Exhaust.. Go Stainless?

Hi All,
After only 2.5 years my OEM exhaust is already getting holes. I'm wondering if anyone has put a stainless exhaust system on and if recommendations could be made. My first choice would be a straight OEM replacement (no performance enhancement). If that's not something that's available I'm open to other suggestions.

Thanks In Advance All...

I have the Frankencar... its not an OEM replacement, but its stainless and barely louder than OEM and it flows a bit better since the piping is slightly larger in diameter than stock (2.5" vs 2.25" stock). It looks better too...

It depends on where you live. I've had a cheap aluminized for 5 years and it's still going strong. If you plan to replace the stock one again after 2.5 years, then go stock replacement, if not get a SS unit.

OK, a few more questions then for both who responded please...
How much was it?
Does it just replace from the converter back or does it also include from the converter forward?

with the stillen aero kit rear vallance the stillen exhaust deff looks best imo..you can buy it from stillen.com but its pretty much a rip off unless you got money to throw around..but hey a few plus sides are: its stainless steel and it sounds sooooo good..reallly deep and powerful..not loud at all but louder than stock and its just a really nice sound

I just got my evo 2 catback exhaust, its full stainless and sounds good, its not super loud and not ricey at all and gives a nice tone , plus it looks good inmy opinion. it comes with everything up to the cat converter

$520 for the frankencar, you really cant go wrong with that. If you look at some previous post by puppet he has sound clips, and also that website has some too.

for my birthday in june im buying this, i cant wait!

I have a stillen Y-pipe and was wondering which cat-back exhaust is regarded as the quietest/best quality for money. I have read many posts about the evo 2 cat back being ricey loud - (i drive a maxima... not a civic).. i'd like to keep the sound to a reasonable level, a nice deep throaty performance oriented sound would be nice. I'm leaning towards the Frankencar exhaust........Any opinions?

the mossy exhaust sounds good and looks good, not sure if it would be too loud for you. It is lighter than the frankencar exhaust though.

Thanks everyone. I'm leaning towards the Frankencar cat-back system. For the $, it will quickly pay for itself up here in N.E. My Altima cost me $200-$300 every 2-3 years for "the midas touch", once the OEM system rotted away.

You should have had your car rust protected before you bought it, that might have helped. Where have you been driiving it, in the ocean? I've never heard of an exhaust system rust out that fast. And you call yourself Skier, certainly you're not driving your Maxima up and down roads to ski hills all winter are you? You should have an old beater for that.

Max is my only vehicle right now (except for my motorcycle). I drive about 18K per year, and yes, skiing as well. Ski trips though are no worse than commuting as far as salt goes. They put way to much down here in NH, and every time a little precip occurrs.

Max may actually end up my winter car. I have my sights set on a 350Z ragtop for next summer, budget permitting

Salt on roads is the worst. I know someone who absolutely destroyed a Jaguar Vandenplas (V-12) a number of years ago by driving it to Whistler to go skiing and I've screwed up cars before driving them to ski hills in the Interior of British Columbia. And don't get be going on the sand/gravel/boulders they put down on the roads.

yea i just hope the combination wont be too loud... the y pipe adds a nice throaty sound, but im looking for a little more, hopefully not too much tho, ricey loud is annoying! Im gonna add the berk intake before i go for exhaust, that may please me... who knows i may stick with stock exhaust.

yea i hear the frankencar is pretty heavy.... i cant imagine it being heavier than stock..... ill look into the mossy exhaust im guessing its cheaper than its twin, cattman? ... thaanks tho
