check condition of coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid and tranny oil. check/replace air filter, while doing that, clean that screen that sits in front of the maf. you can access it through the stock air box if that is what you have. change oil if its time and check tire psi if you do not do it on a regular basis. how many miles do you currently have? if over 75k, you may want to consider replacing the fuel filter.

dont drop any of the bolts for the coils, they could be hard to get if the plug is pulled! I dont think there is a fuel filter to change on the 2000, its in the gas tank. Or so i was told by my dealer on one of my few visits.

it is in the tank but it is replaceable. it is same assembly as in my 01. my old one had 50k and was caked in dirt and sediment. i only use named brand 93 octane so dont let anyone tell you its some sort of super filter that never needs replacement.

Thanks sloppymax,

How was it to get at and remove, I searched for instructions a little but no luck. I was told by the service manager at Nissan not to change it! but he was trying to get me to do a tranny fluid change at the time.... I have 85K on my car and the original fuel filter. I am getting 26 mpg, which i recently attained when i changed my coils.

Thanks for any help

you have to remove the back seat which is actually held on by only 2 clips. getting the assembly out is not difficult but getting the filter off the assembly takes a little bit of effort. i know spirillis has a write up somewhere, possibly on his homepage. i will see if i can find a link if you cannot locate it first. the necessary parts are a new o ring and the fuel filter which i got from dave b for around 26 bucks shipped, if i am not mistaken.
