Did you install your own leatherseats.com/katzkin seats?

To those who have installed leather in their own 5th gen ...

1. Are there any particular tips or tricks in general you would give regarding general installation?

2. Are there any specific ways you found were best to install the door panels?

I did my own leather in my 4th gen and found the seats to be generally problem free as long as you were meticulous. However, I did not have side air bags or anything tricky like that.

Additionally, I was able to install my door panels quite well. The vinyl they give you really isn't very easy to work with, but I managed to find a way. In the 5th Gen, however, the door handle is right in the middle of the panel. My idea was not to cut a hole for it and rather slice an "X" over the door handle area and press the plastic ring around it, hopefully creating a nice, tight fit.

I also found greater ease of installation by actually removing the fabric and installing the vinyl right over the door panel surface. I found the vinyl stuck better to that than the fabric door panel. I'm hoping the suede door inserts will be easier to work with than vinyl.

Anyway ... any/all input is valued ...
