In racing, what is a good driver? For 5spds
Everyone claims that he/she or there friends are good drivers when it comes to racing. But what really is a good driver?
Once your rolling, it's pretty easy, even for ppl like me who don't own a car w/a manual tranny.
But when your stopped, what is a good driver? And what are some pointers that you can give to a newbie, like me.

*cough* I ran 14's w/ my car stock *cough*

Otherwise, you just need to know how to read your timeslips.
Your 60' time is a good judge of your driving skill.
*cough* I pulled 2.1 60' times on my 19" rims. *cough*

Even with an automatic there is *SOME* skill required.

SKILL
i think it's all about the skill. okay now, I'm sure we all agree that 1/4 mile run is not a good indication of a skill, WE ALL AGREE ON THAT. because everybody can ****ing shift gears, you can perfect that
now, I think the real test is actually racing something like autocross. you race on a track with other cars on time, so if you can beat the best car, you're good.
that's what I'm planning to do this summer, autocross
I know I'm a good driver, now I just have to prove it to everyone
if any interested in new england area
