TS ECU or Hotshot headers for 2k3

Allright my 2k3 will be up and running within 2-3 weeks and am looking for ideas for performance mods. The only mod i have right now is a cattman CAI. Since they are about the same price What would give better gains or what would you guys prefer to have. The Hotshot Headers or the Technosquare ECU upgrade. Don't take into account installation of the headers cuz my engine is 3 bolts and a strap away from being dropped so easy install. Eventually i plan on having both the ecu upgrade and the headers. Leanin towards the headers since they'll be easier to install right now. Thanks for the opinions guys.

By the way gotta race a buddies 01' CL type s anyone raced one before. And my buddy thats helping me work on my car doesnt seem to think it is going to run 14's haha WTF time to shut him up.

i would vote headers. is your 2k3 auto or manual? the reason i ask is the ts auto program has proven at the dyno and track to not gain much if anything. i would get headers first so when you do get an extended rev limiter, that the engine could breathe.

Headers do wonders on a VQ35. Get them, you won't regret it. You will do 14s with both eyes closed while filling you tax return and driving with your feet.

I am also having the same problem deciding on headers or ecu next for my 03. But I will tell you this, I beat a Cl Type S with only an intake. Put the headers on and you'll smoke him.

You should be able to run 14's w/o headers.

Get the headers and an AFC of some sort, cuz usually you'll need to adjust the AFR to get the most out of em...

Do you know if it was an 01' or later CL? They are rated at 260hp and i think around the same weight as a max. I figured i would be able to run 14's stock but for some reason my buddy thinks there is no way. haha can't wait to show him.

Ok i have no idea where to get an AFC. Where do you get these at?

lol yeah i typed that and went straight to google and found some my bad. Can anyone give me a quick rundown of how that one at sportcompact would work, lie how to use it, how to wire it, is it hard to tune or is it pretty much self explanatory, and what it does for performance most importantly. THanks guys.... I'll go search too

If you got a Greddy Evo 2 your in for one hell of a wake up....your car will be louder than a truck with the headers and catback...you need a catback like frankencar to keep it quiet.

Headers...and the only people who should purchase the TS ecu are manuals not autos. You never stated which one you have

It was definately the 260hp type S model and he was proud of his custom CAI. But he wasn't too proud sttin' 2 cars back. The other factor is that he was auto. They are definately a little heavier.

cool cool, so i take it yours is a 6 speed. Once i get headers put on i can't wait to race him, i know i could get some money outta the deal because he thinks he'll beat me.

since you have an auto, you should also get a tranny cooler with the VB upgrade, i hear alot of the auto guys felt a big difference with those two mods so think about it.

Get the headers first, and then have technosquare tune the ECU for the headers to get the best gains.

^^ actually i heard otherwise.....i heard even with headers to stick with L-spec (stock). and i heard ecu is still effective on autos....a good 9~11fwhp not to mention extended revs

i was at the track w/my stock max auto i ran a cl-s that had i/h/e....i ran a 14.6 he ran a 14.5...but i beat him anyway cuz of my reaction time

P.S...it took the guy in the cl-s like 3 runs to get that 14.5...he had a tough time breaking 14.7...i thought they were faster...but i guess not

The cl-s could only run a 14.5 w/ intake , headers, and exhaust? I'd be pissed if I were him.
