I've been hearing a loud girgling exhaust noise coming from my '02 max this past week and it's getting louder. I figure I must need a new muffler since the car is still fairly new and there are no visible holes in the exhaust pipe.

ANyone else have this problem on such a new car and what muffler brand is best to purchase for this car if I don't go OEM at the dealer?

There are usually original Nissan mufflers available in the Classified section, since people are always upgrading to aftermarket mufflers. You might want to check there.

Maybe one of the gaskets is leaking...why not check before you turn a 92¢ thing into a 4-500 dollar thing.
