I was running wiring for my LED mirror signal and found this when I took the trim off. Anyone know what it is, and what it's supposed to do.

 

No idea what it is... but ya need to vacuum a lil bit in there...

 

suppose to go on top of the wire as a cover. Looks like it came off and got dismangled. I wouldn't worry about it.

 

looks like a rubber piece, seems like nothing too important...

lol...3200 pounds minus 0.1 pounds. werd.

 

You see those 2 screws holding in the wiring in the kick ....that covers that....basicly covers that hole.....it was self adhesive...you know stuck at one time.....The passanger side has the same thing......

it is sound deadener.

 

it is a cover and will hold the cables to the body.... well that was the purpose...

 

Yep... unfold it and see where it fits. Probably fits on the inside of the panel you took off.

 

It's not a critical part or anything, but I happened to take some pics while I was doing my system. It should fit something like this:

Actually, I didn't realize it at the time, but you can see in the 2nd pic above where the black thing used to stick to the metal, just above that cut-out.

Do you have a write up on the LED Mirror signal?
Im getting mine next week and im not sure if there are instructions with it or even if they were clear enough.
