Weird But True...

I've tried to ignore it- nahhh couldn't be...they will think I'm nuts but I am convinced that I have water in...get ready for this...in my frame! When I hit the brakes, I can hear it sloshing around. I thought- hmmm ok it's just the sound traveling from the gas tank or other fluids under the hood but no- when it was cold out, it actually froze and near the lower front door I could hear and feel the vibration of a chunk of ice hitting- like a slap wrench dent puller.

Could this water have gotten in at the factory? I never had the body apart except a rear 1/4 but thats on the opposite side. Do we even have hollow tube frames or is it unibody contruction- either way, it's just WEIRD BUT TRUE.

I was just mentioning to some of the OKC guys the sloshing sound I hear from the rear end of the car. I always assumed it had to be the gas tank but had no real evidence that it was, not to mention I had never heard a tank make this much noise before. I still have no clue.

If you didnt buy your car new there is a process of drilling a little hole in body parts to remove dents. Dealerships use these guys to do this I worked at a dealership awile back and his name was The Dent Guy, look for little black plugs on each side of that door,

OK, so what about the sloshing sound coming from the trunk area -- like I said, I always had assumed that it was the gas tank but now I may be thinking differently after reading this thread.

Not sure about you guys with the trunk but I'd be willing to bet that is what it is with Max01's door, doors are what those guys fix most!!

some maximas have some type of sealer problems under the rear window (so the dealer says) and behind the tail lights. water seeps in, collects in the spare tire well. my lug wrench ended in rust because of this problem.

Bleh I had water in the frame of my 4Runner.... but that was because it was submerged so that I could stick my hand out of the window and touch mud/water if I wanted to a couple of times! haha
