Huge Problem. Car keeps dying.

ok,

I am having a hard time getting the car to drive. It keeps stalling. It starts up fine but immediately dies. The RPMs shoot up to 1 and drop instantaneously.
And if it does manage to get going, the RPMs keep getting lower and lower until the dash lights come on and the car dies.

What could it be???

I have an auto (if it matters).

Thanks. Really appreciate it.

Do you have an aftermarket intake or something? Methinks vacuum leak... Check all hoses and whatnot... My intake came apart about 2 weeks ago and I had the exact same symptoms. Car would start up fine then immediately die. I found out that my intake had come loose after the MAF so the MAF was not reading any air and obviously since there was no air, there was no fuel. No fuel = engine cut out... Also try unplugging your MAF to see if the car actually stays on... I did this while I was troubleshooting.

I have no aftermarket intake (everything is stock). I did reset the ECU and it didnt have an affect. Another thing i did was pull the MAF out and see what would happen. Nothing
changed, car still kept dyin, only difference was that with the maf out i couldnt go past 2500 RPM.
