HELP!! Car's on stands...02 parts on my 01???

Anyone, please help me if you can....

I've ordered brakes from Jason for my 01, brembo cross drilled, PBR AXXIS pads, etc. Fronts went on fine. Turns out after much digging over at Pep Boys, I've got 02 pad retainers (if not calipers, rotors, etc.) on the back, and the tabs on 01 pads won't fit the 02 fittings installed for some damn reason on my 01 max. So now I had to buy Hawk pads, and after setting it all up, putting on the backing compound, the damn caliper piston fully screwed it, the gap is short by like a millimeter.

Any suggestions? How the F did I get 02 brakes on the car!!

Can I get that piston further somehow? It turns, but isn't retracting any more? Does anyone think i've an entire rear brake setup that's 02?

this sucks.

im not really sure what your asking....but if ur problem is not being abole to push the puston on the rear calipers back here is how u do it...

use a c clamp to push in the piston while using arck joint pliers to screw in the piston. u can really use any tools as long as u puch and screw it. it may take a few minutes but it will go in slowly. good luck.

THanks super6

so will the piston in the rear go flush with the caliper face? And how can you C-clamp AND turn the piston. I'm not sure if what I'm using is the wrench you mentioned, but it's a "universal" cube that fits on my ratchet that sits in the notches on the piston face.

All 4th and 5th gen cars have the same rear brake hardware.
