Cattman Cattback exhaust. *pics*

I installed mine a couple days ago and I noticed great difference in performance. I think I did 60mph under 6sec, maybe 5.8 or 5.9. I feels like it gave me 20hp to my wheels, but it realy increased it only with 5. If you guys have one and noticed the same thing or maybe something different tell me. I love Catman, sounds great A+++. And If anyone has one on your Max please post pics if you can, would be fun to see.

Cattman is the way to go. Will be getting b and y pipe in a couple months. However, I really doubt you got 20 hp at the wheels.

you won't get much in terms of gains with a cat back, with a y-pipe you'll definitely notice it more. advanced timing also helps.

not on a 2k2-2k3 max y-pipe. you barely will get gains. headers is the only way to go.

nice cattback. i want one for my 4th gen and i hear once you get cattman headers it sounds soo good.

Its relative... ya still get more gains with a y-pipe than a cat-back... even on a 5.5 Gen... IMO, its better than nothing, esp if ya can't get headers for whatever the reason...

Everyone knows that headers give the most gains for a 5.5 Gen, but not everyone has the money, time, or skill for that. Just wanted to point that out cuz I think sometimes we give people the impression that getting headers is like getting an intake or something...

yes a y-pipe will give gains on a 2k2-2k3 max but not as much as on a 4th gen or a 5th gen max. I understand that they are expensive but they are well worth it.

I dunno if it's the angle of your pics, but your exhaust seems to be lower than mine, and at a downward angle?

I think it's just the angle. Mine looks pretty much the same way.

For those wondering whether this setup drones or whatever, they don't. It's not far from stock, just a bit deeper tone. It's not a cheap big single outlet system that makes your cars sound like a Civic.

I heard clips of Cattman and they were way too loud for my taste.

Hmm, I guess that's what it ultimately comes down to, personal taste. When I first installed my Axle-back, I had my Berk off the car. I barely noticed the Cattman before I re-installed the Berk. You can barely hear anything over that.

Looks awesome. I just ordered my Cattman rear section last week and should be getting it Friday. I can't wait to install it...Should the rear section sound just like the catback?

In a month or two I'll go for the y-pipe.....unfortunately i cant afford headers right now...

....I'm still waiting....hoping....praying.....that Apex'i makes a WS catback for the 5th gens. I have that on my Accord and it sounds completely stock (except at WOT) and has a noticeable positive affect in my midrange.

No drone at all. Like other people were saying it, "It's not a cheap big single outlet system that makes your cars sound like a Civic". Mine sound nice, you hear that deep roar when I'm in 2000rpm, it sound so nice and powerful. The whole system is quiet, and it is the best one to get. NO DRONE AT ALL GUYS.

Yep. I just got my VQ35 and I have full cattman(headers, cat, catback) and it's pleasently subdued at low RPMs (It is louder than stock, but people who haven't heard my car when it was stock would probably not see much of a difference), but when I romp on it, this thing roars. No drone at all, no ricey fartcan note, just a real powerful roar, that's how I'd describe it. Headers probably make a good difference, though.

I had a Greddy cat-back on my car. After I put a y-pipe and test pipe on it sounded like a loud rabid hornet so I put the factory muffler back on. Anyone know what a Cattman will sound like with this set up? Your pics look great! I wished I had gone Cattman to begin with.

I'd like to know what the rear section only sounds like too. Please give us a review in a week or so.
Thanks!

It's going to be quieter but not by much. I've seen a video clip of 5th gen w/ headers and cattman and that thing was just as loud as Greddy.

Went out and checked on my lunch break. My tips are definitely much closer to the cutout in the bumper. Probably just the way it was adjusted when it was installed. As far as sound, the Cattman was almost more quiet than I wanted, but I think it's better that way...

Hey bro, yes I did install the cattman by myself. I only bought the rear section so it wasn't that hard, and it's simple to do, remove old one, put cattman and wala.

For the rear section, ya need to jack the car up high enough so that it has enough clearance to point straight down, that is, if ya don't have a lift. That's the easiest way to get the inlet piping of the rear section out of the "tunnel" over the cross member. That's the hardest part usually for people with no lift. Ya probably have to use at least 3.5 ton jack stands on the rear beam to get that height.

Another thing would be to make sure ya drench all your hardware with plenty of Liquid Wrench or an equivalent because they do get pretty corroded. If ya have a cat-back to install, ya might wanna look at getting someone to torch the nuts that hold the b-pipe to the cat because those are usually pretty tight on there, rusted, and break easily if you try to yank em out. Those threads are welded to the main cat, so if ya break one, its a pain to have it replaced (unless ya break it clean and can stick a regular bolt through the hole).

Other than that... its pretty straightforward...

You can't go wrong with the Cattman catback. If you want a deep tone that almost sounds like a G35 then look no further. I love hearing mine.
