Courtesy, not Stillen?

Hi guys,

Is price the only factor in deciding between the Courtesy and Stillen bars? I assume that for the steeper price, Stillen doesn't require any modifications? No offense guys, but I don't want to do any sawing or hacking on my beautiful car. Anybody care to comment?

U R cutting a piece off which is about maybe 1/2 an inch.. and when U put the factory Air Box back on U won't be able to see if U cut anything.. its just to get the bar in the car thats all.. did U look at the pics above.. It shows that little piece U cut.

Re: Re: Courtesy, not Stillen?

would cost U another $80 for the stillen bar and would cost U $10 for a saw.. Go figure.

If you can get a hold of a Dremel cutter...

with a couple spare cut-off discs, you'll be done the whole installation in 30 minutes, that's including letting the touch-up paint dry where you made the cuts.

i didn't want to hack my car either,

so i used my cutter to shave off the area needed on the fstb itself. installed w/ no problems. took extra 15 min. and left the car alone.

That sounds like a good idea, Kafene. I don't suppose you have any pictures of your install available?

Sorry for being so persistent about this issue guys. I'm just really in love with my car and want to have a nice, clean-looking ride.

Re: Re: i didn't want to hack my car either,

its not like anyones gonna see the part that you cut off anyways.
i didn't want to hack it off either
but i looked at the strut bar i got
and there was no way that i could see to cut the strut bar and make it fit.
just cut that 1/2 inch part off and get some touch up paint ( 2 bucks ) and have it done your way =)

comon guys

cutting, grinding or chizeling the piece.. what difference does it make. its gotta come off. and the rubber on the factory air filter houseing covers the part U cut so its not like U R gonna see it.. and I think that piece is actually hidden so U won't see it even if U tried to look for it..and its not like that piece has a lot of load on it that it would move around.. its just holding the plastic houseing for the filter in place. O well hope something works.. My car is still jacked up in the front from installing My FSTB.. don't know what that's all about.

I'm a little confused. I asked a simular question a couple of weeks ago. At least one person said they did not have to cut anything for the courtesy bar. Now I don't know what to think. See thread --> http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....45&mode=linear
