wtf 94 octane and pinging
#4
Never done a timing advance.. Do I need to look into getting one done? Usually the pinging happens in the middle of the day, when the air conditioners on. Its not real loud or anything, but its noticable. It happens every couple of days.

pinging usually comes if you do an advance and use cheap gas. Others have said it comes when u push the engine the hardest IE goin up a hill in a high gear with AC blasting and radio on. If you just drive around normally and use atleast 91 gas and have on and off knocking it could be a faulty knock sensor...which leads me to the next question...is the SES light on?

I use only the finest gas.. I have it imported from Shell/UK

I guess my next question would be about the faulty knock sensor.. Is this a serious condition?

Seriously, no, I use only good gas, between Amaco and Shell, as well as Seafoam. I do ride with the radio on along with the AC but rarely do I push my Max, but I should say the knocking, when it occurs, is when all of the above are in occurance. Also, I rode around for a week, 2 weeks ago, with the SES light on after some hard driving (late for work/100mph). It went off last week.
