I Hate Fifth Gens!!!

Well not really. I've been tryin to find the right one for a year now. I cant seem to find fully loaded se with a decent amount of miles. I've seen alot that say they are loaded except leather. I really want heated leather and i noticed the group deal section that i can buy it there and have it installed for about 1k bucks. So my question is should i just buy an SE without leather and put it in. Is the quality as good as factory? Also, am i missing any other things that i would get with a loaded SE. Thanks in advance...

I think most ppl who have installed aftermarket leather have been pretty satisfied. I think most will say it's just as good as, or better, than factory leather. Other than that, I'm not sure what else you would be missing by not getting a loaded SE. Don't let leather keep you away from a 5th gen if you found a car in good condition at a good price.

I agree. It would be about impossible to find EXACTLY what you want for a good price. Get something with decent mileage and a decent price close to what you want and add some things yourself.

I'm in the same situation as you are, except i'm looking for a 4th gen 5spd w/leather. I think that katzskin leather is a very nice upgrade and well worth it. The only thing i would think you'd be missing from a SE leather package might be heated seats. But you can add that as well with katzskin leather. It what ever you feel more comfortable with. Good luck with your search

without leather, there are several options that are missing such as, side airbags (there are some exceptions, mainly the TE's), dig. climate control, memory seats, and meridian edition (heated seats, mirrors, and steering wheel) (this too, has some exceptions, although it is very rarely seen, some TE's have cloth heated seats)
aside from that, i dont think any of that is really necessary, especially if it is keeping you from finding a car....i didn't WANT a car with leather (especially aftermarket like mine) but when i found my 6-speed, i went for it...i didnt just skip over it because it had leather...

well it depends, TEs come standard with side airbags, bose, compass in mirror, and some other stuff, but they have other options like sunroof (that MAY be standard, im not sure) and meredian edition...you just have to take a look.

When I was looking for mine I found a loaded 02 6speed with 46k on it for 16000, the dealer just got the car the day I found it and I went to get it the next day and it was already sold. I found another within a week and went that night and paid 1500 more for one with 20k more miles. If ya find one jump on it, they don't stick around

ya i know what you mean....it took me FOREVER to find me my perfect max....

i wanted a 5th gen max; either graphite, black, or pearl; manual tranny; black leather for under $14k

every time i found a car that matched that by the time i got to the dealer or found it, it got sold.

finally found one over 300 miles away and rushed out there to get it, and it was perfect. just go on autotrader and search within like 200 miles or whatever.

Hmm...this is interesting. My car:
- 2001 SE five-speed, black on black, 31000 miles.
- Meridian Edition, meaning, leather, heated seats, side air bags, etc etc etc
- H & R springs, Tokico Blues, Stillen RSB and FSTB
- 17" SSR Integrals wrapped with BridgestoneTuranza LS-Vs with about 6k miles on them
- Custom real wheel spacers
- Anniversary Edition door sills
- Brake kit with 12.9' x 1.10" two-piece rotors and Wilwood forged Superlite four-piston calipers
Extra bits and pieces: stock brakes, a pair of nearly new KYB GR2 front struts and a set of Eibach springs.

Car is paid for....make me an offer....

(931)684-6811 I know there are a few at this dealership... Most of them with lower miles because they don't keep high mileage trade ins on the lot, also try http://www.shelbyvillenissan.com/en_...mePage_1.chtml, this may be WAAAAY out of your way, forgot to see where u r from, but just figured I would help..

I bought my 00 max gxe used with heated mirrors and heated seats. One thing that bothers me is that they are heated cloth seats. Anyone else have these or heard of them?

Come on up to Ontario Canada, not hard to find an SE with heated leather and low mileage (well km's)

Check out autotrader.ca and do a search for cars and pricing...

Not as good as mine. Heheheheh

Just kidding! I put my car up on Ebay to see if I can get more for it. I have had several offers so far but still want to see if I can get a better deal before I give up.

it sounds like a really good car, but try to talk them down a bit...the price is a little on the high side...also of course, run a carfax, etc. etc...

Keep shopping and don't settle. I shopped for about a year until I found my latest Max. The 6-speed with all the options was well worth the wait and hunt. Getting a great deal because it had been on the lot for near 90 days as icing on the cake.

i had too rush my maxima buying experiance .. is earched and found my maxima in under a month mainly jsut waiting till my previous car sold(the 75 impala hence the user name).. but somehow managed to find my 2000 maxima, with all the options (SE, leather, heated seats(not that i need them in florida), bose all the doodads) i wanted, in my price range... only downside too the car has 104k miles when i bought it...but the upside is it only cost me 9500$ tax tag and all, out the door..... they go quick tho, thats for sure...

There is a loaded 6 spd TE at a dealership up here. It has leather too. It's in Portsmouth, NH at Portsmouth Used Car Superstore. I saw it last week and checked it out. It's really nice. Wish I could afford to jump into a new one right now. I saw that you were from RI. It's only a couple of hours. I just saw the thing yesterday. Here's the phone number to call about it. 800-391-1830. I'll pm you the same message so you get it asap.

I may be looking to sell my 03 Titanium Edition. It's fully loaded with everything except factory nav, but I have the Pioneer Avic-N2 installed. I also have Tein SS coilovers installed without the edfc. It does have a bit more milage than the one you're going to look at tomorrow, (59,000) but it's mostly all highway miles. If you're interested, let me know and I could give you some more info, or meet up with you somewhere so you could check out the car.

Good luck, but just remember if you find one in excellent condition for a good price with most of the options you want and it does'nt have leather then I would buy it and install the leater if it only costs $1000 to install like you said. The ideal situation would be find the exact Maxima with all the features and everything, great price and excellent condition. Now that's rare but it's possible it could happen. Just keep looking.
