Outside Temp. Display

I have the auto climate control with the outside temp display and I am having a bit of a problem.

It takes about 45 of driving for it to show the correct temp, if I Know it is 75 outside it will first show up at like 50. Then it will slowly creep up to the correct temp (about 45 min). I dont know where the actual sensor is, so I can see if it is dirty...

Where is it? Does (or did) anyone else have this problem? If you did, how did you fix it?

Thanks.

I see something like this on both my Max and my Envoy. I garage both vehicle so consequently it is a different temperature when I start out as to when I finish a trip. In winter my garage is about 10-15 degress C wamer than it is outside. I think it's that the car acts as a giant heat sink and it takes time for it to reach the same temperature as it's surroundings. This in turn effects the thermometer.

the sensor is at the top of the dash...one sensor is for the temperature and one sensor is for the auto headlights and i am not sure which one is which but they are located on the ends of the vents for the defroster.

Yea....i'm not trying to be mean but it doesn't make much sense for the external temperature sensor to be located inside. my guess is that it is located around the windshield wipers somewhere. If i'm not mistaking the manual says where its at but dont' hold me to that.

Yeah, thats the one for the internal temp. I just found it in the manual and on the car. It is in front of the radiator on the bottom left corner (if in front of the car). i will take it out and clean it soon, and if that dont work i will price up how much it is to replace.

Yeah, look thru the front bumper opening, and you should see it. It's black in color.

Had the same problem with my outdoor temp unit. I sprayed the sensor with electrical cleaner from Home Depot and it worked like a charm. Sensor was fast and accurate again. Used "CRC 2-26 plastic safe lubricant". Its in a dark blue spray can.

Cleaning it should help. Normally mine takes no more than 2-3 minutes to adjust if it was in a cold (or hot) garage or something like that.
