Reprogram ECU now or later

I just replaced my rear 02 sensor, the car had thrown a p0138 code. Autozone is trully a blessing. According to the tsb (http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/NTB02-051a.pdf) I should also get the ecu reprogrammed. I was getting a lot of hesitation before the engine warms up while the CEL was on, but since replacing the sensor I only get a little bit of hesitation b4 it's warm. I think I should get the ECU reprogrammed, but should I wait until the other O2 sensors fail and I replace them? I guess what I'm asking is if I get it reprogrammed now will I have to do it again once I replace the other two. Or is the upgrade a one and done thing?(which I'm thinking it is) I have also replaced my MAF with the updated version several months ago and the ignition coils (though not mentioned in the tsb as a reason to reprogram) thanks.

in the tsb, it lists all the different codes associated with the particular fix and ecu flash. after you get the flash, you should not receive any more codes coming from that issue aside from the o2 sensor failing on typical age. i had p0140 and nissan replaced both secondary o2 sensors along with the ecu flash and i have no had issues since.

Dealership told me they would have to replace both 02 Sensors before they reprogram b/c thats the signal that will sending to your ECU, and if you change it afterwards, it will send a different signal, so YES, according to them, it is advised to change the other (or both) 02 sensors BEFORE reprogramming, and as I mentioned in an earlier post that total cost (for me) was $475 'out the door' and they know me there. So I refused...

Thanks, so I guess I should wait until I replace the other two sensors. I'll probably wait for them to go bad b4 replacing them. So, looks like I'll just sit tight until then thanks.

darrick check out this TSB and the oxy sensor url. I just replaced my rear sensor and it was not very difficult
http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/NTB02-051a.pdf, http://www.oxygensensors.com sells replacement sensors, the cheapest ones are the universal ones that you splice into your existing connector (instructions are on their site). That's what I used, but they also sell ones with the connectors you need. You could buy these and get a mechanic to do it for you and save some money that way. Just make sure to check your car to see if you are cali-spec or fed-spec (the TSB will tell you where to look). This is important so that they give you the correct parts. I bought one from an auto parts store and had to take it back b/c it had a different connector. Hopefully oxysensors.com will give you ones with the correct connectors. You will still have to get Nissan to reprogram the ECU (about $90 I think). Check it out.

How long SHOULD an O2 Sensor last? I have 128K miles with the original 02 Sensors and last year (Nov) I passed the Smog check in my state. I've had a MAF Sensor replaced and the ECU reprogrammed if that matters. Never had anything emissions related go bad..until last week..

I'm Showing a P0505( Idle Air Valve) and being told by the dealer I need a new ECU and Throttle Body. I've seen no TSBs that show that code is bad ECU. So am I getting ripped off or am I just going to have to pay? If I need major work and the O2s are going out soon I might as well have it ALL done.

I've also just had my MAFS replaced and ECM reprogramed... Now I get a PO155 fault which is the O2 sensor 1 (front) bank 2... Is there any connection?

Hey guys there's a better place to buy sensors and that site is here on ORG., that http://www.oxygensensors.com is like almost dealer prices sensors and this http://www.oxygensensorwholesale.com...02_maxima.html site is like $30 cheaper with same quality.
