Can you guys confirm the install times for each of these if done at a shop? I'm being told 6-8 hours for an install on my Max2K1 for:

FSTB
RSB
Stillen HiFlow
some basic tuning.

Please let me know the amount of labour time I should be looking at for each one of these when done properly in a shop?

6-8hours just seems very long for those?

Thanks

I know my intake took a little under an hour.

FSTB, 10-15 min.
RSB, 45 min to 1 hour.
Intake, less than 1 hour.
No tuning necessary.
Laughing at the installer's ridiculous estimate, as long as you want.

The average installer (one who hasn't done this before) should take about 3 hours.

my times:

FSTB - 15 min
RSB - 1 hour (most time spent jacking and removing wheels)
OSCAI - 30 minutes (can remove and install in 15 min now)

Agreed with everyone above. 6-8 hours is RIDICULOUS. Do the installs yourself and save yourself the cash.

I'd ask him what he plans to tune, and how? Ask him to show you what adjustments he will be able to make after the intake is installed. He's full of shyte.

I've got revised info from them:

"Three hours is close, not including the tune work and the tuning of the suspension. Should we have to add to the harness for the sensors for the high flow, that to takes a little time. Physical install three is about right, but you need to look at the fine tuning stuff. The numbers I gave you is absolute worse case."

I understand as well that there is some sort of throttle adjustment being made for better performance.

I'm a HiTech computer guy not a HiTech car guy. Without this site I would be lost.... :spin

Damn dude, what the hell is that guy smokin'? Between my intake and my FSTB, those two only took me about an hour. Unless the RSB takes 7 hours, he is a wacko.

Lift the car up.
30 minutes on the RSB, then drop the car to the floor.
As for intake, and FSTB, same location, and removing 6 14mm nuts takes a minute, and removal of airbox for intake install and bolting it up to the MAF, should be about another 15 minutes, leaves you with 15 minutes to mount and tighten the FSTB.

-Tenk yooo, prease come again..

Not to offend... but
Dropping the car to the floor b4 you do the FTSB is a very vital step... just wanted to over emphasize that

This "fine tuning" sounds like a way to remove extra cash from your wallet. These are SIMPLE mods. Even if you have to buy tools you will save money vs 3+ hours of labor.
