Guess What?
well after 30,000 miles on my second tranny the time has come to replace that with a third tranny. it started slipping again about a month ago and i brought it in a couple times and the dealer couln't reproduce the problem but they finally did today and the new tranny goes in thank god i bought the extended warranty cause my car has 96,000 miles on it now and that is an expensive repair that i probably wouldn't have fixed for a long time. so i just thought i'd let you guys know

the first one started slipping at around 50,000 and it wasn't too noticeable then it got worse and after alot of parts being replaced and a lot of arguing and test drives nissan finally warrantied a new tranny which wasn't replaced until i had about 63,000 miles on it now with 90,000 it started all over again so my first decision was to try a different dealership and i tell yah what a world of difference the tech working on my car called nissan and they wanted to replace the valve body again and without hesitation he said no i'm puttinga new tranny in it. so next week we go for #3 it feels nice though to have a dealer fight for you for once. oh and after that was replaced my car never seemed right i went from running a mid 14 1/4 mile with the old trans to a low fifteen with the new one hopefully this one gets me back like the original. so anyway i'll keep you guys updated with new info

Congrats on a Nissan Max-TL-ima. Sounds like Nissan has the same issues with POS auto trannies as Honda. In todays world the only trannies that will last are manuals. Everything is made cheap. GM who used to make THE best slushboxes in the world is having issues with their truck trannies also, GM supplies BMW with autotrannies

I have to attest to the GM tranny comment, 1st car was a leased Pont. and I used to drive that think straight out abusively. It never gave me a problem even though I never had the tranny fluid changed in 36k mi. Though I may just have been lucky, what happens when I drive fairly conservatively + replace tranny fluid at 25k mi. in a Max? 10k mi. later it dies.
