Cleaning Our Engines
I would really like to clean the inside of my engine compartment. I was thinking of putting a plastic bag over my Stillen intake and taping up most of the electrical. Has anyone tried the degreasers in a can? Any advice would be appreciated. I did this once a very long time ago with a Camry and it wouldn't start for a day so I'm a little scared.

Brake cleaner is a bit harsh. I used the Gumout stuff. You can selectively spray it away from plastic, wires, etc. Then I gently sprayed it down. I let it air dry then started it up. No problems. Just be careful.

how to clean you engine bay -
(i do it every couple months and have never had a problem)
1. plastic bag over intake
2. spray on Gunk foaming degreaser
3. let it soak for about 10 minutes
4. hose down with steady stream of water
5. start car and let run for a few minutes to dry most of the water
6. (do this if you want engine bay to shine) spray foaming tire cleaner over entire engine bay
7. let stand for 10 minutes
