Leather or vinyl?

I have heard various rumors. Can someone set the record straight? I have heard that in that in the 5.5 gens, only the parts of the seats that you touch when sitting on them is leather (face of the seats). The rest (sides and rear of seats) is vinyl. Is this true? What is leather and what is vinyl in the 5.5 gens?

I am pretty sure it is like that on most cars/sofas. Only the part you sit on is leather.

Nissan calls it "leather-appointed". WTF is that?? Basically its leather where u sit, and pleather everywhere else. In the GLE, Nissan advertises wood "tone" trim. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume that means fake wood. Its all about advertising and perception.

I think they're just saying that since you saw that other thread about mileage, you probably should have posted there instead of in this thread. But, to answer your question, 16-18 in all city wouldn't be out of the question.

To answer the question about leather, most cars under $50K have the leather "seat" but vinyl matched back and door panels. Cheap leather sofas do the same thing. However, more expensive luxury cars will have 100% leather. In reality it isn't neccessary because as long as the back of the seat looks like the comfortable part your butt feels it's all good.
