its the little red LED light next to the dimmer switch left of the steering wheel...... (every time i turn on my car, the same light blinks and beeps 3 times). junk is THAT the ses light??? (ive only had the car about a year and havent had any problems and do my own maintenance....i would have thought the ses light would be by the gas light n speedometer n junk)

when i was driving home from work today, it just randomly turned on and beeped a couple times and then stopped and then did it again (i live like 5 minutes away from work). the only thing different than normal is its really hot outside ~100 degrees today.

Are you talking about the light that actually shows a pic of a light bulb? (to the immediate left of dimmer switch)

ya the light thats immediately left of the dimmer switch (the dimmer switch has the picture of the light bulb....this light has nothing). basically, theres 2 rectangels next to each other connected by 1 side. on the right is the dimmer control (with the pic of the light bulb) and on the left, theres a little red light. thats the light im talkin about

Possibly and after market alarm was left in the vehicle before you brought it and was tied into the ignition system so when ever the car is turned on, it will flash or beep. Wifes mustang is like that, somebody put a aftermarket alarm after they bought the car with the factory alarm,go figure.......

The alarm is supposed to be on the clock mount. And in that square is supposed to be the TCS switch, which is where it's at on my uncle's 03 GLE.

haha @ asking 'whats that beeping light mean?'... and being the only one that had it. classic.

follow the wires, then you'll know what it is instead of playing guessing games with these guys. i think it's for the oil slick deployment canister, maybe it's low? check next to the evap under the rear bumper.

No. I didn't say it's the TSC switch. I said there's supposed to be one.

ok.....

i didnt burn out but i did do a bunch of random sharp turns, very slight tire chirps and whatnot (in the most legal and safe way in the middle of nowhere with perfect visibility and within the speed limit, of course) and in my very fun scientific experiment i couldnt get the light to turn on.

it was a good excuse, but i dont think thats it....

so anyways, i think its safe to assume from the fact that a couple other ppl have this that this is most likely not aftermarket? so does anyone actually know what it is?

thats an aftermarket alarm--sometimes the dealer puts in an alarm so the car wont get stolen--we have those at our dealer--but we are suppose to take them out b4 they sell it. the factory security light is up on the clock in the middle of the dash.

I can vouch that it is definitely aftermarket...

I own a 2003 SE (TE), and my wife owns a 2000 GLE and neither one of our Maximas have it...
