Is it possible to slap on a 5.5 gen bumper and grill on a 5th gen max? If yes, is retrofitting needed? Are the hoods on a 5th and 5.5 gen the same?

I know the hoods, fenders, and the headlights (shape) are the same. So theoretically it should fit but someone else probably knows a little more

 

Yes, it will fit, and the swap has been done many times. The hoods are identical. The only issues you will have are:

1. because the HIDs on the 02-03s are slightly taller, you will have a small gap below your 00-01 headlights with the 02-03 bumper

2. you will need to get the 02-03 foglights, as yours won't work with that bumper.

 

but if i get the 02-03 lights, it should work and i wouldn't have any gaps... correct?

but keep in mind about the 02-03 lights though...they are not cheap, and they are not plug and play....

of course, your other option would be to put the 02-03 lights with your 00-01 bumper (and there will be no gap)
