my 2000 5 speed right now has no reverse. when i try to shift into reverse it feels like the reverse lockout won't disengage so that i can put it into reverse. has anyone else had this problem? anyone know a quick fix or what to do to fix it?

Is it only reverse? How does the tranny shift otherwise? It may be a simple thing like the linkage. Here is a thread you might want to read: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....t=reverse+gear

One guy had the same problem and was told he needed a new tranny. Maybe y ou'll be luckier.

 

i'm sure it's just the tranny going out then. my third gear syncro is a little messed up too. atleast i'm goin to my dad's this weekend. hopefully i can get a loan from him. after i go to maxus. i just have to make sure i can pull through anywhere i go
