LED reverse light

Has anyone ever replaced their reverse lights with a LED type. And I and wandering if you can get this in red LED. I am putting a rear fog in my left reverse light and the bulb that came with the kit is obviously too big to fit, so I doing a few modifications to the kit by swapping a small part of the wiring harness so add the proper bulb to fit. I'll post some pics when the project is done.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

it's not too good of an idea if you're looking for light output, because the LED's are focused on a small area, unlike glass bulbs, so it will not illuminate the ground at night.

why would you want red reverse bulb?

Whole point of reverse light is to warn people, not to light up the road

well they work well to light up the road too....where i live, it is pitch black...the only light at night is from the moon....when backing up out of my driveway, i usually just coast in neutral, cuz it's on an incline, but at night, i always have to put it into reverse to avoid hitting the trees or the mailbox and fence across the street...

I have the red LED in my left reverse light. It’s re-wired as rear fog light. I had to do it because it’s mandatory here in Europe.

Thanks

Well if you read what BudVlad posted I think you'll understand why I want a red LED reverse light. It's actaully not going to be a reverse light, but a rear fog light, which will not be used on a clear night, but in foggy conditions or any kind of severe weather where visibility is low and you'll save yourself from being rear ended because you can be spotted much more easily. Unless of course someone is talking on their cell phone or not paying attention under these conditions then anything can happen even in broad daylight.

Now since I will have only one reverse light remaining I might opt to swap that bulb for a higher wattage bulb to provide better backing up visibility at night.
