pull out your headlights and you can pop them out easily from there.

From the front will work but I suggest using a VERY thick cloth in between the light and the fender b/c if not it will cause the paint to chip... It really should not take that long. MAYBE 5 mins for all of them unless you have some kind of trouble. Any more ?s hit me up.

i used a thin blade screwdriver and a towel, for the fronts start at the back and push foward while prying up, same thing for the back ones, except start at the front of the lens took me about 5min

good lord people, this is in our owners manuals! lol...it's really not a difficult thing to do at all...just do what darrick and max'd did with theirs...i don't really see the need to go through all the trouble of popping them out from the back, because i did it the front way, and my paint looks fine...

Page 8-29 & 8-30 of the owner's manual.... the markers should be pushed outwards; away from the middle of the car, as already mentioned.

are we allowed by law to have clear markers on out car. If so should we get red and orange colored bulbs or are white exceptable. Meaning will you get a ticket with clear lights for side marker lighting??

side markers do not matter, unless they are blue (i beleive). the front turn signals have to appear amber, and the back have to appear red or amber. the physical bulb color does not matter (incandescent or led works). they just have to blink amber/red.
i got bluish/purplish leds in all my sidemarkers, and it loox cool at night. matches the hids pretty well, and none of that ugly white/yellowsih incandescent bulb crap.

ok. I'm now confused. Let me try again. I bought clear len covers for my front and rear side markers. The stock ones are amber and red. So if i replace them with clear i would need red and amber bulbs.....right? Does that make sense. I just dont want to get pulled over for this. Thanks for your help.

i agree with chronos, although i can't confirm it....during a spot check, they questioned the "white corner lights" and i said that it was simply just lights, and my signal lights were amber. when i put on my flashers, it confirmed i had amber turn signals and he let me go.

the SIDE MARKERS on sides of the car can be any color. the turn signal bulbs (in your head and tail lights) have to be legal colors.

ok... i just tried to take the stock out. I put a cloth around a straight screwdriver and started to pry. I heard some plastic crackling noises and stopped. now i have an intentation from the scewdriver and the lens is still in there. It is really as easy as the manual makes it seem. I do not want to muf up my paint. I'm pretty good with my hands so that is not the problem. Should i just pay someone to have it done or what??

this is by far the easiest thing you could mod on a maxima. pry from the middle of the car, OUT. out meaning not toward youself, but towards the bumper. yo are shifting the whole lens forward, or back (in rear side markers case). you will move it about 1/8", and see the tab holding it in. don't worry about the cracking sound. if you broke the tab, you are putting in clear's anyway. just remember to pry/move the whole sidemarker in the hole, not prying OUT of the car.

you are completely wrong...
according to DOT law -
front sidemarkers must LIGHT and REFLECT amber
rear sidemarkers must LIGHT and REFLECT red

if you want to argue this (like everyone else always does) i will repost the actual law

Sooner is correct however it's always the whole saying that if you don't get "caught" then it's not illegal...I know some guys have been busted for clear sides but I have blue bulbs and clears all around my car that make the front corners and rear reverse glow blue during the day and hyper white at night and in the suburbs of MA where cops are looking for any excuse to pull you over, I have NEVER had any issue with that or my aftermarket HIDs...I always have cops behind me at like 2 am on my way home and I always cringe when I put on my blinkers bc they are the polarg hyper white and when they blink I can see all the way through the cops car behind me when i look into the mirror because they are so bright and they never do anything...i don't know how much more obvious it can get than that and still no problems...probably because we own nicer cars and not honda civics which are targets

ok, i got them out and the new ones back in. What an easy mod. They look great. The fornt came with amber bulbs and the rear came with white. So i replaced the rear light with amber bulbs. I will take my chance with the police. Thanks for all the help guys.

the blinking TURN SIGNAL indicators have to be appropriate colors. are you sure about sidemarkers taht just shine to show off the car? they dont really do anything besides help other motorists see your car in extremely poor visibility.

i am sure about the sidemarkers. my girl works at DOT and i have the law about lighting printed out at home.
the colors help people know what is the back and what is the front of the car.
like Kruppa said, its only wrong if you get caught. if you have clear ones its a good idea to have the proper colored bulbs so it doesnt stand out. clearcorners and superwhite bulbs is just asking to get pulled over (then people post on here cause they are mad at the "stupid cop that pulled me over")

Clear sides are illegal, but you won't get a ticket unless you do something stupid to **** off the cops.

Where I live, clears/altezzas are just an invitaton for the cop to pull you over. All they need is the first excuse to pull you over looking for the ultimate price, a DUI.

Driving under illumination? That's a crime now?
