Finally received the Stillen FSTB! According to the installation sheet, Install strut tower rings onto strut tower. Torque nuts to 43-58 ft-lbs.

Which torque is correct anyways? 43? 44? 45? etc.. You get my drift. Because the torque on the nuts for the bar is stated to be 20ft-lbs.

the three bolts at the top of each brace should be torqued to 32-38 ft-lbs (according to the shop manual). the bolt connecting the rod to the brace should be torqued to 20.

have fun.. hope you bought the RSB as well.

I have a courtesy FSTB and the specs on that said the bolts should be torqued to 35 ft-lbs......58 seems kind of high, but the important thing is that the bolts on there are tight enough. I say just torque it to around 45 or so.

You have to have a torque wrench to do this. it is a special (rachet {sp} style) wrench that disengages when a certain amount of force is applied to it ... i.e. when you have a nut on a bolt and it reaches the end to more you turn the nut the more ft/lbs of torque you are adding.

You can pick up a cheap one from Pep Boys for about $20

It's one of those tools that you'll swear you'll never use more than once, but when you need it again (and you will), you'll be glad you shelled out the $$$ the first time and have it sitting in your tool box.

Cheers!

I would recommend a Craftsman torque wrench: good quality plus can be returned if faulty. You might pay a little more, but you get what you pay for.

I love my Stillen FSTB. This thing is a work of art. I don't know if I should install it. :-) Way better than FAST bars that are on Civics.. ewww.

I bought the beam type of torque wrench. It costs around $15 and is good if you only use it once or twice a year.

Just looking at it already improves your car's suspension! Just like how yellow paint on a car gives it more HP. LOL

Go on and install the sucker. Have a blast!
