Whats a Friction band and is it repairable. I read this in the stickies but there was no discription on how to repair it if it was even repairable. Any ideas

 

The bands are tensioned and released to grab and release the clutch/planetary gear packs in your tranny to "shift gears". Someone I assume has told you that these bands are responsible for your slipping tranny issues. The dealer?
