quickie for all the experts

hey dudes i got rear ended a couple of weeks ago, and i am going to be recieving my insurance check this week. i know i need a new bumper and trunk lid. all of the screws and everything are still in place. my question is this. will i need a new crush pad and the reinforcer or whatever its called. i heard that people just tape their crush pad back on. anyway i just really wanted to know about the reinforcer. any extra cash is going for some new toys. thanks guys any help would be great.

If it were me, I would get everything fixed....that way if you get rear ended again you still have the crush zone....might even save your life...but thats just me....good luck with whatever you do....

see thats the thing, the body shop told me that they just reuse the crush pads. they said the usually just break in half , and will do the same protection if it were taped. have any idea about the stabilizer?

At least get your car checked out to make sure that there is no frame damage done on your car. It could be real expensive to fix later on.

You might be able to reuse it. Not sure though

If you got rear ended there is a slight possibility that some type of frame damage might have occured. You should really get it checked out. You might not be able to tell by just looking at the car. Good luck and make sure you have the car properly fixed before you start spending on toys and goodies because once you blow that insurance check the rest is coming out of your pocket. Take care.

Depending on how hard the impact is, the possibility is not just "slight". If the reinforcement bar is bent, there is huge possibility that the frame might get pulled.

more than likely you can reuse the styrofoam absorber. i'm pretty sure thats what your talking about. Anyways reuse it and spend 40 bucks elsewhere.
