I was wondering what you guys do that have the y-pipes.

Do you take it off for the road and put them on when you hit the tracks? Do you just leave them on all the time and take your chances?

Any tales of getting caught or stories of clever escape would be entertaining as well...I'm in my research mode right now.

I just leave mine on all the time.
Even with a punched out cat no cops have bothered me yet.

I doubt any policeman would be smart enough to look under the car and figure out that you have an 'illegal' y-pipe. Unless they are maxima nuts like use here, I don't think they would know.

If they were nuts they probably wouldn't care... at least I hope they wouldn't.

Yeh even my Infiniti dealer hasn't said anything negative about it...

And I just had it inspected the other day.. no problems.

Unless you know the pre-cat is missing... you won't notice a thing. I was also worried about what happens when the finds out, what if they looked under my car, what happens if I get caught, what will I do about emissions, etc.

All I have to say now is don't worry about it. If you want more power, get it.
