auto shifter problem
My co-worker has a 02 maxima auto and today at lunch she asked my why here shifter won't go down into 2nd or 1st. So i tryed to do it myself and it will move left to right ( 3rd-drive)but not down to 2nd or 1st. any ideas. I already tried the shift lock(stuck screw driver in hole) no luck.
well i dont know how to fix it but if ur friend sits in the car and u open the hood and look at the arm that moves up and down on the drivers side. down at the bottom behind the radiator ull see it it looks like a piece of metal wich is of a goldish color and some rubber around it connect to the tranny. try and move it with ure hand i think it goes up when the shifter goes down so 1st will be all the way up try to help it if that dont work.
i dont know ide force it then take it to nissan and yell but if i were u and it dont work give her a ride in youre max to nissan and have them fix it sorry i hope this will give u more insite good luck
