It was a total piece of junk. The flex section was noisey, it actually made my car slower.
Just say no to warp speed. I'd say hold off on a ypipe and go with headers eventually, or if your insisting, cattman, no less.
See. I just bought the Warp SS Y-pipe for an 02 Maxima. It looks to be of high quality but I haven't installed it yet so I have no idea about fitment. You also have to keep in mind that there are a lot of vendors on this site who post with an agenda. Not to say that mig didn't have a problem or that he is a vendor but be careful. I like to look at large numbers of posts and make a determiniation from that and not make a deciscion on one or two posts.
5th Gens haven't seemed to have had a problem with WS y-pipes in terms of fitment and performance... do some reading in old threads and you'll see... to be safe, Cattman is usually good... and no, I don't work for Cattman or anything, its just what I've heard from others who have Cattman products and from my own experience with their y-pipe on my 5.5.

mjg, I sincerely doubt that the pipe actually made your car slower. Do you have timeslips or dyno charts? Also, when did you buy your warpspeed pipe? Was it aluminized or stainless steel? Mandrel bent or crush bent?
I don't have any timeslips or dyno charts myself, but the butt dyno very clearly showed an improvement in power from the y pipe.
Like I said, I don't endorse getting WSP's catback system (there are fitment issues) but I have had no problems with the Y as of yet. I've had it on the car for about 1 year and about 20,000 miles.

The Y pipe is the best bang for the buck mod for an A32 Maxima, regardless of manufacturer.

I've heard that the 5th gen Y pipes don't make as much of a difference, probably because the stock pipes are better on the 5th gen than the 4th gen. So you're saying that the combination of aftermarket headers, y pipe, cat, and catback together can free as much as 30HP? Is this on a 00-01 or an 02-03?

Btw, you do know that Stillen headers are not recommended around here right? Look through the FAQs, there's a thread there...
"small majority" - IS that like a black white person?
Don't put that garbage on your car. It will ruin it. There isn't just "Fitment issues". The flex section is cheap and makes your exhaust sound like bees nest. All in all if you are thinking about putting it on you aren't going to listen to reason anyways. I learned my lesson the hard way. It is a family sedan and now I laugh at people who put brand X exhaust systems on it. You might as well go into the ghetto and tell them to pimp it up. Warpspeed is brand X, period.

FYI, I have a Custom Enterprise Y-Pipe and Street Race Pipe with a Frankencar Cat back system. It definitely has some bees in there that I can't stop from Buzzing. Under 2K it's mellow. At points above 2.5K or so, it's also sounds ok. Any thoughts or suggestions as to how to eliminate the harsh drone noise and the "bees in the can" sound that happens between 2,000 and 3,000 RPM?
