I found in one of my paint chips on the hood. There is rust growing on it now. What should I do.
Does this mean I get a new hood?

go to the dealer and lay the down on them. They should take care of it. There is no excuse for having rust on your car already.

you have 10 years of rust protection (I believe... or do yo have to wait until it eats ALL the way through the hood??)

The dealer will give you some BS about it being because of paint chips and that is normal wear and tear and it's not covered.

Either way they have to send the request to Nissan for approval so you can tell them, put it in the claim and let Nissan decide.

Guess what, I recently did this. I have two rust spots on the leading edge of the roof (between the windsheild and the sunroof), and the spot welds in the trunk just below the rear window. The dealer gave me the chip crap (the spot on the roof are not from chips, unless it's a miniscule pinhole sort of thing) but nissan let it go.

I am going to get all the TSB work done while it's in the shop. (rotors, read bumper, interior squeeks...)

I have to say that Nissan seems more reasonable than the dealer.
