I got a Courtesy FSTB used for a good price. When I tired to line it up with the bolts on the strut tower, the driver's side wouldn't line up because there is some metal piece that is holding the intake that gets in the way. How much of this do I have to saw off? The guy I got it from said about 1/4". Is that alright? Thanks!

Yeah. If you have the older version of the courtesy FTSB, you will need to saw off a bit of that metal clip. Just take a hack-saw to it and it should fit just fine.

If you saw into the bolt hole at all you've gone too far.. start conservatively... doesn't take much at all.

Courtesy

You have the older 4th Gen bar as the new one needs no cutting. I believe that Courtesy Nissan still has thread to show how far to saw piece. Also use search feature becuz' someone had pictures recently.

Get a torque wrench that can handle at least 50 ftlbs and fits your existing socket set (assuming you have one).

you can get a 3/8" wrench and then get adapter sockets that let you use 1/2" sockets also (and vice versa) .....so go with the size that you have the most sockets for.

I don't have pics but I can take some later. Just grab a hacksaw and go for it. The metal cuts easily. Trim a little and check the fit. Trim a little more and check again. Remember, the bolt hole should be intact, if you cut through it you've gone too far.
