Brake pedal drill

Has anyone drilled the brake pedal? It seems rather thick.
I thought the gas pedal would be a problem but the whole pedal is rubber. It is actually the brake pedal that is the worst of the 3. I don't have the right drill bit to drill into this damn thing. Guess I will get that tomorrow. Just wondering what others might have used.
Here are some "in-work pics".

if you really want the good stuff get a Carbide tipped bit...it will go through just about anything

I just might look for that. The pedal seemed really thick to try and drill through.

Sorry I was joking...next time i will be more clear.

You dont NEED a Carbide tipped bit, they are over kill for what you are doing and they are kinda expensive. A normal decent quality drill and bit will get you through the peddle just fine.

No problem. I have a decent drill but I guess I just need some better bits. It looks like it would be better to do the brake pedal in place. It looks like there is alot of **** attached to it.

Drill a smaller hole first (pilot hole) and then a larger hole to the size you want. With a metal-specific bit (carbide or other) it shouldn't be too hard....I had to drill 3 holes into my brake AND clutch pedals...

just drilling it does nothing really...mostly for looks. If you look closely at my pic, the brake and clutch pedals have little ridges around the holes in the pedals, which provide better foot grip on the pedal. Besides that....it's cosmetic.

I installed mine this pm, it took me about an hour to install the 3 pedals. I used a standard carbon bit to drill in the gas-brake pedals.

Yeah got some new bits today. Will try them. Irish, you drill your brake pedal in place?

Like Irish said, no benefit to drilling, looks and some grip only.
