the rarest 2k2-2k3 color out there?
#41
actually i've seen a pre-2002 maxima in that color while i was looking to buy a max at the local dealership. i remember it specifically because my girlfriend thought it was a cute color and i swore it looked like baby blue and we got into a whole discussion about why i think that color was gay and why she thought i was being stupid.
..... ahhh memories....

The dealership I work for sold only 4 Polished Titanium Max's, Sunlit Sand was a close 2nd with only 6 sold, grey luster seemed to be the most popular, followed by Glacier Pearl. I personally have only seen 3 Polished Titaniums including the ones on our lot, and we had between 40-50 maxs on the lot at any given time.

sure looks like baby blue (Tungsten Blue) to me
stop getting defensive cause you think you have a rare color that was only made on year
i'll admit the color might have had a diffirent name..but the color is the same and thats what matters

The Merlot Maxima looks pretty hot. I tend to only see black 5th gen Maximas around me. Maybe thats just because mine is black and there is some wierd psychological thingy happening.
Gotta keep my eyes peeled for other colors now

ok for 00-01 the light blue was called "Majestic Blue Pearl"
say what you want to say but nissan took the exact same color and just changed the name to "tungten blue" and only offered it 02.
so you have a color that had a diffirent name one year...not a diffirent color

and for the record, i could care less what the name of your cars color is. i simply stated "ive seen one that was a 2000"
and then you got all defensive
here we go again!!!! TUngsten Blue was ONLY produced in 2002!!!!!!

with that..im done talking about..if it makes you feel better - the name "tungsten blue" was only used in 02 which means you have a rare color name

dude, the colors are a little different. and sheesh don't be so serious about it. you just made 3 posts within 30 minutes about the same thing. go post in another thread or something. :
EDIT: The '00-'01 color looks a little darker to me.

I'm just pleased that Nissan took it upon themselves to produce a few lines that were limited. Seems to be the cleanest color to me, but what do I know, it's all just my .02
I like it too:

Tungsten Blue is definately the rarest. Its a great color and I actually wanted the Tungsten Blue if I chose an 02 Maxima. I've only seen two in my area and I think that the Tungsten Blue looks best on the GLE. Merlot is next to the rarest and I think Merlot looks better on the GLE versus the SE.

I just bought my 02 two days ago? It's not silver, it's almost Gray. Anyone know the exact name of this color? Also, my gauges are silver. Is this normal? My last SE (98) had white gauges. I thought that was still standard on the 02 SE? Just wondering what I bought

Yea, that must be it. I thought it was silver because that was what the dealer was telling me, but when I got it home and looked out the window at my beauty I realised it was Gray or now Grey Lustre. I absolutly love it. I thought I had some special gauges becaused they matched. Which is cool because my 98 was pearl white and obviously had white gauges. My stupid friends thought they were custom. I think I will go with the same story with my new 02!!

wow there is a way to hi-jack a thread. I havent ever seen that polished titanium, only seen one merlot and i see lots of whites, blacks, sunlit sands, grey lustres and silvers.

look at this post: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....highlight=grey
the car in the second picture is sterling mist, while the one in the third is grey lustre...i'm guessing you have sterling mist (sort of a pewter color)

A few good laughs reading this thread. My 02 Merlot is rare and I have yet to see another on the road. I get compliments all the time about the color and after a couple of hours detailing on a Saturday, the car is beautiful. I can't say the same about light colours (silver/sand)..."oh, did you wash it?"
In my area, grey, silver and sand are a dime a dozen. Seen a few blacks, not too many whites and definitely not the light blue. I have seen a couple of dark blue 01 AE's...
