Where to buy...

Since I cannot search, where can I buy a key for my '02? The stealership is a last resort. There aren't any that look the same as the current keys on Ebay motors...just the remote which I am going to buy.

Is there anywhere I can buy the stillen rear vallence primed and maybe even painted?(already checked the classifide section and posted a WTB thread)

for the key, it's not the key itself that's expensive...but you have to have the dealer program the key for the "immobilizer" system.....

call DaveB....he'll hook you up.

i was told by the dealer that the car has to be physically present at the dealer to have the immobilizer system programmed? is this true or is this another one of those dealer tricks to squeeze your pockets?

I don't know if programming the key is similar to programming the remote cause u can program the remote ureself and even buy it on ebay for less than half of what they charge u at the stealership.

I bought my (after-market) key from eBay for about $30 and had the stealership cut it and program it for about $40... I think they wanted something like $100 for the key alone...

As far as I know, yes, the car has to be present for them to program the key. They use a Consult II to do the reprogramming and I believe all the keys for the car have to be reprogrammed at once. Keep in mind this was just from casual observation at the Nissan dealership so this may not be 100% correct.
