04 rotors interchangable ?

So I am on a look out for new 2 piece rotors for my Maxima, and if I don't find any I am selling my TTZ Calipers and Blehmco caliper brackets... but thats for the classifieds section.

I was wondering if the 350Z Track rotors are same as the 04 Maxima rotors ? I belive they are the same size 12.6", and few companies INCLUDING Brembo make light weight 2 piece rotors for these cars. Can anyone confirm this ? I would like to keep my brakes but the weight and performance of these huge 04 rotors is actually worse than my OEM calipers and rotors with high perfomance Hawk Pads and Goodridge lines- and I'm comparing big brakes with slotted/drilled rotors- same Hawk pads, to OEM hardware.

Tell me about it mike, when i had my 300zx BBK kit in my hand i almost shat on myself when i felt how heavy those damn rotors were. I was also looking into this route except i am going to probably keep the stock calipers and just upgrade the lines and pads

Did you try cross referencing the part numbers?

Altima SE-R and 04-05 Maximas share the same rotors, but Track Edition 350Z with the Brembo calipers has diff part #s and my local Nissan dealer does not stock any 350Z rotors so I can see if they are the same ( I guess 350 aint got the problem with warped rotors). I usually deal with this dealer for all my Nissan parts needs, since I worked for them I get a killer deal on parts, and they have a good selection of parts.

I found quite a few diff companies making 2 piece light weight rotors for the Z, and I thought that it would be great to use their rotors on our Maximas when weight of the 04 rotors is a issue- like it is to me.

I will try to see what I can find out, and post more bout that subject.

Not sure if you heard, but Matt Blehm is working on a lightweight 2-piece 2k4 rotor as we speak. I currently have his 2k4 rotor relocation kit and am loving it.....will be interested to see how the new rotors he is fabricating come out.

I'm still planning to do it, I just haven't had time to mess with it.
while my engine is blown in the Maxima, I'm goign to try to strip the brakes off and send the hats I have to my fab shop and have another set made like them with the proper offsets.. I doubt I'll be able to get it finished before I have to leave town thursday afternoon, but I'll try to get it done.

Problem is I been waiting for these rotors since late January or so, and I can't wait any longer. Weight is a big factor for me, I'm selling the brakes.

i know what you guys are talking about when i put on my cross drilled rotors on my 98 5spd i swear they weigh like 20lbs each on the fronts, same with the oem wheels they must way about 40lbs each to, thats quite a bit of rotational mass the engine has to overcome.

If u think the rotors are heavy, the calipers from my 6th are really heavy. I am the only 6th gen to do the 300zx bbk and I love it!!

his rotors are out now--matt blehm's...they are slightly ligher than stock 1 pc. 5th/4th gen rotors...which is impressive being that they are much, much larger at 12.6"...it's not on his site...but there is a thread about 'em in the general maxima discussion I believe...

I just purchased a set in slotted flavor from him...can't wait!!!
