I Hate Stupid People

sorry for venting, but i need to before my head explodes. if you dont like reading, skip to the end to see the shortened version

this morning i was driving my 2k max to work. i was running a little late, and i was kinda in a hurry. i tried not to do anything stupid or get myself killed but i was still tryin to go fast. i was merging on to the interstate going a blistering 35 mph. i was the 5th or so in a line of cars trying to merge into 70mph traffic. finally, i just cut over a little early, crossing the white lines that seperate the mergers from the traffic. well this d!ckhead infront of me decided to do the same while i was right beside him. so i quickly reacted by moving to the 2nd lane and just let him in the fare right lane. no big deal. people cut me off all day long. im convinced that everyone is out to get me because there are so many stupid people. so i was fine that he almost hit me, i just manuvered away from him. but he kept coming over, completely oblivious to me, so i move over once again. however, apparently this guy wasnt gonna stop untill i was off the road because he once again changed lanes right into me. so finally i get pushed over to the far left lane in a matter of 3 seconds. but still, thats fine with me. in a perfect world, this never would have happened, but it did so ill just pass him, give him an evil glare, and be on my way. the only problem was he pushed me right behind someone goin 30 under the speed limit, so i gracefully change lanes to get behind the man that apparently is trying to kill me. i wasnt behind him for 2 seconds when apparently he thought i was tail gaiting, which i admit i was following a little to close, but there was plenty of room. so i just get behind him and apparently this guy is pissed that im behind him so he decided to tap the brakes. now i have no problem with this, if there is some one tailgaiting you, you give a nice tap on the brakes and say "back off and be patient". although i would never do this i can understand why you would want to. so he gives the brakes a little tap. and by little tap i do mean brake all the way to the floor. the back of this d!ckheads car rose, no joke, about 6 inches. (you know when you approach a red light and you hit the brake and the front of your car goes down and the back gos up) so hear i am going 70 on the highway when the nutcase infront of me slams on his brakes. reacting quickly i jerk the wheel to the left where there is no car. once i got over i quickly went the opposite way and then went to far, so i tried to correct myself but i over corrected. so i kept going back and forth, more and more each turn, until eventually i was going around 60 mph backwards down the interstate with cars just inches around me. i slowly turn the wheel once i was going backward so id pull off into the median which then i cut it back to be facing with traffic. i then sat there on the side of the ride trying to grasp what just happened. surprisingly i didnt hit the truck that was to the right of me, i didnt flip my car, and i didnt get any damage except a little tread goine from the tire. i consider myself extremely lucky. i just wanted to vent because that d!ckhead that did a quick stop on the highway could have gotten numerous people killed and caused thousands of dollars in damage.

so the lesson i learned is that if you are being tailgated, dont slam on your brakes because that only causes accidents. but more importantly, dont tailgate or be in a hurry. it doesnt matter if you are a couple minutes late to work, its not the end of the world. but if youre in a rush and you get in a wreck, it could mean the end of you or your max's life. sorry to get so serious but being a young driver i feel that sometimes racing is fun and heart pumping, but in the end life is more important.

sooo, to make a long story short, if you tailgate, you might do a 360 doing 70mph down an interstate next to cars when all you had to do is be a couple of minutes late. sorry for the long vent but i just hate stupid people

holy crap dude...you were freaking lucky...i do the same thing all the time...i cut across the white line a little before it ends so that i can actually get to speed instead of going 35 the whole time but one time i was getting on and there was a slow grandma in front of me going about 30 so i looked over my shoulder and there weren't any cars in sight at all..sooo i cut over into the fast lane (not really fast, just kinda put on my blinker and slowly made my way over..) well apparantly, there was a car directly in my blind spot, and he had to slam on his brakes to avoid me running into him...i never felt so stupid in my entire life!! so from now on, i dont do that anymore...lesson learned.....you should just always expect the unexpected....

If you are saying you hate stupid people now, you are going to have a stressfull life. The older you get the more you realize they are all around you. It gets worse (and worse and worse) every year.

I'm just now in my thirties and at my current rate of stupid people disallusionment I am sure I will have a heart attack within 10 years. I didn't start hating the things stupid people do till I was about 25, at 17 I loved everything.

I think I should have just kept my job at the 7-11 and moved into the appartment across the street. IE no car, no worries.

What quite possibly happened to the guy in front is that in some cars, when the ABS is activated the car will come to a stop. It was explained to me that research has found that in an emergency some people will react to the pumping action of the brake pedal by releasing it. This may not be good in an emergency situation. So the newer model ABS systems will bring the car to a stop once activated.

Sometimes it helps to lay on the horn to get a d!ckheads attention, then flip him the bird, put your foot in it and away you go.

What? I think what you're talking about is the brake assist safety feature where the car senses a panic stop and applies full brake pressure. That's gotten me out of a few jams actually. And the horn is my best friend when it comes to stupid drivers, well that and the VQ with 255 (on paper) horses.

well i'm 17 and i'm already as bitter as you on the road i really hate the fact that i'm labeled as 'one of those people with road rage' but sadly, it's the truth...i just can't stand the stupidity of other drivers, and it seems like they're all there just to **** me off! LOL...i mean, there's something about texas drivers that really aggrivates me, and it's that the majority of the people drive 20 mph under the speed limit at every given time of the day...so no matter how much traffic is on the highway, you cant go the speed you want because two IDIOTS are riding side by side doing 40...call me crazy, but that kind of crap just gets on my nerves...now here in arizona, it's the total opposite!! my dad was going 80 in a 55mph 3 lane highway the other day, and people were STILL flying by him! maybe when i move things will be different..but you're completely right..in another 10 years if this crap doesn't stop i just might have a heart attack behind the wheel! You're lucky. my friend was doing 90 this week on i95, and he was in an SUV. He lost control, went across all three lanes, and flipped it 40 feet into the woods. He got out ok, but the SUV got OWN3D!

The couple hours I drove through Texas (passing through on I-40), I completely understand your frustration. And I'm from NJ, the capital of bad drivers. I'm also regularly in the DC Metro/NoVa area and the infamous Beltway is like thunderdome at all times of the day and night.

Not if you move to STL. If it rains, people go 10mph. Mad hoosiers abound, so if you go a little faster than ordinary, all it takes is some buster in an IROC (or, more commonly, an F150 or primer colored S10), to roll up your butt to INSIST you jam on the brakes

Myself, I just yell at the MF, and move on with my day. I think road rage comes from the adrenaline rush you get when stupid people endanger you life. The "fight or flee" side comes out... One the fight side. People without "road rage" I fear are the regular fleers when the going gets rough.

Your description of what happened to you sounds like an average montreal morning. Montreal drivers are not only crazy but very unforgiving. These guys will tailgate you on an open road, in a traffic jam or on a freakin' icy and slippery road. Glad to hear that you (and your car) are ok!!

oh yeah baby, quebec drivers are freaking nuts. I think I would rather deal with them though than the farmers at home.

I had a pretty similar experience, although this was with a Camry before the Maxima. I was merging onto the highway shortly after it had stopped snowing, where two different ramps merge into one on ramp, then onto the highway. I was in the left hand merging lane and an SUV came flying up in the right hand lane, which had a yield to my lane. The SUV didnt yield to me and I was going roughly 40mph (there wasnt all that much snow on the road, but enough), so it was either slam into the back of this guy or hit the brakes. So rather than slam into him I very lightly tapped the brakes hoping I could slow down enough not to hit him, well as soon as I tapped the brakes I started spinning. Went 270 before I finally hit dryer pavement and regained control and brought it back straight. Was pretty scary, the only thing that saved me was the fact that the area where the two lanes merge stays 2 lanes for about 150feet, and I needed all of the real estate to regain control and not hit the guardrail on my right, or the ditch on my left.

Glad to hear you are okay, could have been much worse!! I imagine that shook you up real good.

You should come to Ottawa , canada sometime. Most of the people here like to go the limit ( which us 100km/hr) and I just find that too slow and usually take it too 120Km/h. Everyday on the highway, i am cut off ( with no shoulder checking), or have to brake hard to avoid some a$$ going slow on the highway. Dont you love it when someone tries to over take a truck and they come into your lane and still are going the same speed as before. For god's sake man, if you are going to over take someone and move into the fast lane...GO FAST!!!

Also, about that middle finger. You might want to throw caution to the wind before doing that. Sure you have your finger in the air, but he might have his finger on a trigger!

And don't say that rarely happens, look at California.

alright, first of all, ill be the first to admit im a d!ckhead on the road. i often drive fast and sometimes recklessly but i never do anything that would risk someone elses life. i might do something that will **** people off, or it might not be the best idea (merging across the white median) but i only do what i know i can do. if i tried to merge on the interstate goin 35 mph, in my opinion thats more dangerous than gettin on a little early (as long as there are no cars) and let my v6 get past all those drivers. so in my head, getting on early was a better solution. second of all, i DID NOT cause the accident. there was actually no accident, but i didnt voluntarily cause my car to spin out of control in busy traffic. it was the d!ckhead infront of me. because he slammed on his brakes i tried to avoid him. merging on the interstate wasnt an issue, as i already said, i was fine with that, it literally happens to me all the time. but slamming on your breaks on a busy interstate spells out d!ckhead to me.

sorry for the vent once again, but thats my opinion, you are entitled to your own as well

Hey Waste of Soap, you hate stupid people. I got one for you. Yesterday I was walking through a parking lot minding my own business when this guy (trying to make his girlfriend laugh or something like that) calls me a dyke. Real original right. Now this is the funny part. He then proceeds to go not even a quarter mile and park at a Dairy Queen(I watched him park), the guys got to have no brains at all. He's lucky I didn't have my knife with me------ can you say no tire pressure.

Although your experience is one that you probobly wont forget for a while, I have something simulair. In february or march this year we had rain that immediatly froze on the road. It was the day that caused the most accidents in NY.

Basically I was coming home from school and I need to go through this light before I can get onto the highway. Now this is a busy intersection (its right under the brooklyn bridge) and all the traffic heading to manhattan or to brooklyn basically pass this intersection).

Well im driving about 15-20 mph and I see the light about to change from the pedestrain go and stop light. So I accelerate knowing that if I do no tmake the light im gonna be stuck there for a good couple of minutes until the traffic clears up. So I just pressed the gas and was about to make the turn when the idiot infront of me stopped short. I hit the brakes but the ice is not letting me stop, there is a car behind me and a car to the side of me, only way to stop is the guy or the rail on the side.

I guess without thinking I pulled the e-brake, which immediatly spinned my car 180 degrees. The car behind me understood there was something wrong and just had about a 2-3 feet distance from me. The car to the side of me just gassed when this was happening and the car infront almost went on the red light cause I think he had a glimpse of this in his mirror.

Fortunitly, no accidents just scrapped my rims against the pavment next to the rail.

So I am now looking at the incoming traffic and all freaked out. Ever since then, I drive incredibly safe, knowing that stupid people are everywhere and can cause the most dangerous accidents.

Is it just me, or did he completely contradict himself? I can't say I'm any kind of great driver, and I know you wouldn't view your own driving as risking someone else's life, but most people on the road are reckless drivers and risk others' lives all the time.

I was driving to Toronto a few months back and observed some psycho-looking ******* in a minivan weaving in and out of traffic several cars behind me behind me, trying to gain some ground in a 2 lane construction zone on the freeway. The left lane opened up a bit and he jumped in following several other speed demons; then the left lane ended and merged back to center. All the other cars got back in well before the merge, but this idiot got greedy. I knew that he was aiming to get behind or ahead of me, so I kept my ground and watched this moron go offroad and hit a nice deep pit of water. He was ****ed.

There are those that drive and then those that a car is merely an appliance from point A to B while conducting all sorts of activities.
Reading, phone conversations, eating, paperwork, bills, shaving, makeup and masturbation.
All types out there, some of us love to drive and are naturally good at it. Others are on dope and oblivious.

One of my biggest annoyances is when people merge on the FW going 30MPH. It's even worse when the stupid moron in front of you is driving a 5.5gen Maxima with the 3.5 when you have a torqueless 2k 3.0L. Another thing that pisses me off is the idiots that insist on imposing their will on you and force you to go at or below the speed limit. In UT, the fast lane is not the left lane, but the right lane. It's almost as if it's unfashionable to drive in the right lane.
