Front strut bar install??

Front strut bar install??

Should i jack the front of the car up(the whole front end),
and then put my strut bar on then tighten it before lowering back down?
A friend advised i do this...
or is that a no good for a max????

why? just put it on and then tighten the nuts to spec.

no, you don't need to raise the car up. just bolt it on.

there is a right and a wrong way.....it's prolly posted all over too so i may get flamed for assting here but..................put the ends on the studs first, then attach the crossbar.........put nuts on snug........SNUG.....then spread the bar two or three turns, to preload the bar.......then torque to specs.

Bolt it on w/o jacking... make sure you don't overtorque the upper strut mount nuts... 39-54 N-m is about right...

newton/meter...it's a unit that measures torque other than ft/lbs. if you have a torque wrench, look at it and the units will most likely be in N-m, however there are many that have several types of units on them....

Like he said ^^

Conversion is as follows: (N-m)*.7376 = Lbs Ft

So 50 N-m = 36.88 Lbs Ft
