2002-2003 Headlight Disassembly

Alrite I know that this is a touchy subject with everyone because it's kind of giving away hints to theives on how to successfully remove headlights. However, when they steal your lights they don't care what kind of damage they do. Me...I care.

So basically I plan on doing the Clear-out of my turn signals on the Headlight Assembly and need to take the Headlight out. I've taken the screws out correctly but it's just a matter of yankin out the light. Any advice you guys can give me please chime in. If you feel like it's not a good idea then at least PM me. I'm getting annoyed that I can't get the lights out cause this is a mod that definitely needs to be done to my max. Thanks.

I jsut tried every which way until they came loose. The ball pin is tricky though.

Thanks for the link. Appreciate it. However, I've looked through that site before and I have those instructions printed out as my guide. However, I'm tellin you...that ball pin does not want to come out at all. It's extremely annoying. Any other help/ideas anyone can provide for me would great.

Just pull like crazy. One thing to mention that I don't believe is on housecor's site is that when you put the light on the cookie sheet in the oven, put a towel under it so that it does not directly touch the cookie sheet. I don't know if it is necessary or not, but it seemed like a good idea to me and it worked fine. Good luck man.

i thought about doing this, can you use the same glue/sealant that came from the factory, or do i need to strip that off, and re-apply some new stuff?

not at all, the original sealant will work fine, just insert the headlights back into the oven for another 10-12 mins to get the sealant sticky again and click the tabs back into place, i used a sealant ( got at home depot, goop wether stripping sealant found in the glue section, silver tube) just to be safe when headlights were bcak together and i have no leaks or condensation in the past 4 months

did you re-bake the headlight, then put on goop, then sealed/clamped it, or did you bake it with fresh goop+origina sealant, then clamp it together?

i heated the sealant up, opened the headlight, did what i had to do, put it back together as best i could, put headlight back in oven to re heat the sealant, took it out and put it back together all the way with clicking the tabs in, then put a smooth layer of goop over the seams, didnt have to use clamps.little plastic tab clips on headlight held everything together fine.
