Would you go for a Lexus Gs 430 or a 2k Nissan maxima with stillen supercharger?

I beleive the 0-60 and the quarter mile times are the same.

If you had the money for both would you go for the pimped out max, or the lexus gs 430?

i think i can answer that... um the truth? actually a SCed Maxima is faster than a GS430.. the GS definatly has the luxury and all that stuff... but the Maxima is sooo much more fun to drive... you feel the road you feel what you are doing... you feel more connected... but the GS has all the luxury stuff and its pretty easy to get used to it... I know if im going out to have fun with my friends and stuff to just chill and whatever i always take the Maxima but i kno if i wanna go chill with girls or take a girl out then i definatly rather take the GS...

My sister just came down for a visit this past weekend with hubby's GS400 and I gotta tell ya, that is one bad mother of a car. It's a looker and can haul some @ss. Not to mention the creature comforts are sweet. I'd have to go with the Lexus.

If the GS is going to stay stock while the Max is fixed up.. I'll take the Max. If both cars were going to be modded... I'll take the GS.

Imagine a sc on the GS4!

and also i dunno but for $30000 im sure u can make the maxima almost feel like anything and do anything... cause i mean if i would be customizing my max then i would definatly buy a naked GXE for like $20000 and the GS430 like i have was like $52000 so thats like $30000 to work with...

Sorry to be non-maxima here, but what physical differences are there b/w the GS400 & GS430 besides the engine?

The HP is the same for the 4.0 liter and the 4.3 litre, not unless Toyota doesn't want to reveal the actual output of the 4.3L.

Actually Lexus focused on beefing up the low-end response of the engine and not so much the top end. Peak horsepower remains the same but comes slightly sooner, and peak torque is slightly increased and comes sooner as well.

4.0L V8: 300HP @ 6000rpm / 310 ft-lbs @ 4000rpm
4.3L V8: 300HP @ 5600rpm / 325 ft-lbs @ 3400rpm

Personally, if I had my pick of cars "in class", I'd go with a BMW 540i and then decide if I wanted the 6M or 5A tranny. I hear the 6M is a b*tch to use in that thing, but that's nothing a test drive couldn't figure out.

But that wasn't the question...

Between the GS430 and pimped-out-Max, I'd probably go with the GS430. I've never been a fan of forced-induction, although I'm more fond of S/C's than Turbo's. The GS430 is probably just a bit more refined, more luxurious, just as fast as the pimped-Max, and less likely to blow up as well. It'd also be more chic compatible as well - which is a big bonus If I just wanted a great sleeper to have a lot of fun in I'd go for the pimped-Max S/C 5-spd though - that would rock! But it really just depends on what your needs are.

A Lexus is another step up in terms of luxury, refinement, and for just being a higher status symbol, so if given a choice between the two, it'd be the GS430.

I'd be all over the 430. I have to agree, $4$ the 540i is the machine to get.
The V8 is just a better smoother torque and keeps you in the back of the seat the whole time through 130mph.
Plus, the ladies smell the luxry options of a car like a drug dog in Comumbia.
