Stillen and no problems to date. Just removed it for the summer and went back to stock w/K&N panel to regain some torque lost during the hot summer months. Come winter I put to Stillen pop back on.

Haha. That's what I said I'll end up doing. I'm going to take it off until the summer ends. I want my low-end back.

If your MAF blows and you have an intake such as berk or fc, would nissan say that the intake voided the warranty and not repair it?

Impressions: It feels better at night for sure. It got really brisk tonight, it's 70-degrees outside right now and the car was liking it. WOT pretty much felt like stock...just sounded a sh*t load nicer.

Yes they can. It doesn't phase me. Our MAF only costs $90 and takes 15 minutes to replace. Plus I have a 3rd party warranty company anyways.

thats good...if your top-end was suffering...then the intake isn't the problem...it could be your VIAS or some other misc things...

I hear about owners losing low end with intakes, exhausts etc etc....to me i don't feel ****....and i've owned 2 maximas before with bolt ons....maybe it's becuz they are both manual transmissions and allows me to rev higher between gear shifting

Yo Steven88, I looked at your profile and found out that you are not running cats. As a fellow Cali local, I urge you to rethink your setup for the sake of our environment. Are your benefits really worth ruining the air for your fellow residents? I don't mean to rant but what you are doing is really selfish. Rethink your position and toss on the cats. Do it for our environment and the earth.

Or at least a high flow one, those don't restrict flow as much and do just about as good a job as OEM cats.

You didn't understand what I was saying. My VIAS is more than fine - trust me. I'm just saying that I feel a slight improvement in the top-end, as opposed to the low-end. Before I put the intake on, I made sure to pay attention how my RPM needle climbs.

With the intake off, the car jumps off a stop - delivering the torque initially.

With the intake on, the car takes off calmer, but begins to accelerate stronger once it reaches 3500RPM - and the needle climbs noticeably faster.

Basically, I have a power transfer. I got additional HP/TQ up top, and as a trade off, I lost some at the bottom. But I'm content, because I'm already seeing gas mileage improvements, and I've been full throttling often too. =)

Wow... ya really mean this huh?

Anyways... come emissions testing in CA, wouldn't he have to add a cat or fail, since they're supposedly pretty stringent?

Arnold, what kind of MPG improvements are you seeing? This is one of the reasons why I am getting it.

Btw, how long did it take to get? I ordered mine monday. I want it now!

I didn't order it from Berk. I got it from an NYCMaximas member who never installed it...if I told you how much I paid for it, you'd kill me in a fit of rage.

As far as mileage improvements, they're obvious to me. Looks like the promised extra 3MPG are actually coming in.

Hmm, wonder why I only got on email with a link saying:
"The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on July 12, 2005 to expect your package for mailing. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later"

I thought it would have been shipped by now. Oh well.

Can nissan refuse to perform an recalls on the car if they haven't been done if the berk or other intake is on?

USPS hardly ever updates that information. Don't worry, you should get the intake in about 2-3 days. At latest, Monday.

They can refuse to work on any part of the intake (TB, MAF) but they can't refuse on any other part of the car.

I heard they can't refuse to work on RECALLS...thats including anywhere in the engine/trans/interior....so lets say u go in for the crank/cam position sensor recall (2k2) and u have a berk intake....they still have to do the work...

Again, they would probably refuse to work on any part of the intake system because of aftermarket equipment. But if the recall involves some other part of the engine, they probably won't say anything but will probably mess with your warranty.

I had a problem with my 2k2 shortly after installing the Frankencar midpipe. I've always had a JWT popcharger (since the car was new) and never had any problems with that. I ended up selling the Frankencar pipe around 30-40,000km's, and at 80,000km's the MAF had died. Had it warrantied even with the JWT popcharger installed. I love my stealership

No, there is no way of them knowing, unless they have it noted down in there computer, which I doubt.

Hmm, Saturday and still nothing. Called USPS and they said no information was available and I called berk a bunch of times and no one is picking up. Getting kind of frustrated right now. So much for that customer service.

Arnold, how is it running? How much of a different in terms of MPG do you see after these few days? Still that 3 MPG?

Finally got the berk, took long enough, damn. Called mechanic and he said he is going on vacation until next week. What a f*cking joke. Guess another week of braking and nearly dying. I'm probably going to install the intake myself tomorrow or wednesday. Any suggestions to someone who has never done anything like this before? The most extensive thing I've done to the car so far was changing the fog lights, so I would really like to not screw this up and not know how to fix it.

There are pictured instructions on frankencar.com and from what I see, it's just removing the old and putting in new, nothing too hard.

figuring out the removal of the stock airbox would probably be harder than putting in the berk itself....just don't break your MAF!!

Thanks for the offer, but I installed it this morning before work. So friggen easy it was ridiculous. Beside the 95 degree heat and the sweat dripping in my eyes, I only had one problem as I was almost done. I was tightening the bracket to the tower with the bolt that was already on the car holding the stock box in place. I kept tightening it because I figured it kept having to go down. Kept going down and down and down until the top of the screw snapped off. I tried to unscrew it with pliers but it was bent against the bottem and there was no way. I tried to break it out by hitting the bottem with a screw driver and hammer but it wouldn't move. I ended up bending the bracket and using another screw and washer in the hole on the right next to the one that you are supposed to use. I will post pics as soon as I can figure out how to get them on my comp from the digi cam.

Sound is amazing, deep and angry sounding. Didn't expect it the first time I steped on the gas hard and took my foot off right away. Well, it was eventful going to work and coming home. Definitely worth it.
