New Stainless Muffler Tip Opinions Needed

I recently ordered a SS Flowmaster 50 muffler for my Max. I also found this cool SS tip for the muffler I purchased. The tip fits over a 2.5" pipe. I'm wondering if this tip could end up restricting the exhaust flow because of how it's constructed? I'm also installing a Y and B pipe. Educated opinions appreciated.

Thanks

If an exhaust tip can restrict that much flow, we wouldn't have mufflers then. Don't think it'll make a difference, however that tip looks very similar to the LED tipped ones on eBay ( ), but it's your car.

I bought it at Pep Boys. It doesn't have any lights. It is actually really plain but the end is not wide open. I wanted something to dress up the tip. I probably have my muffler guy spot weld it into place if I decide to keep it.

I'm not looking for opinions on the cosmetics of the tip. I wanted to know if the tip will restrict my exhaust system since the end is not fully open. Anyone?

A friend of mine put on a similar looking tip on his V6 Camry. Now I dont know if it was just his & there was a problem or if it just how it sounds but he got some kind of whistle which I told him was coming from the holes.

it obviously won't be as free flowing as a normal tip, but it has a hole in it so any restriction should be negligible.

Flowmaster

HI traderfjp,

I like the flowmaster sound clip the best in the Exhaust Sticky, let us know how you like it. Most aurally pleasing, many nuances, it is the one I am seriously considering. Maybe you can record a clip.

I would suspect that tip might just whistle, and impede flow however slight. One way to know for sure...try it! Good Luck!
