Someone Needs To Make A Camber Plate!
...for the 5th gen, besides Stillen. The stillen plates are $400!!
The Cusco plates for various cars only cost $200-250, and look to be of identical materials/design.
someone...needs....to....make....an.....affordable .....camber......plate (not bolt)....for......the.....maxima!!

if somebody can take some good detail pics of the stillen one (top AND bottom)...I will look into having a similar design fabricated....I can't imagine it would cost more than about $100-150 to fabricate one.....Stillen just rips you off becaue they know that nobody else makes one. f-ing monopoly!!
Maybe we should ask Matt Blehm

Here is what I decided to go with:

The improvement was dramatic, although, it did require a class change.

the maxima is only autocrossing for a year or two until my two "handling upgrades" are back on the road. (this is not a picture of mine, but I have 2 that look just like it, except in about 200 pieces )

I will be going to the local junkyard with a spare OEM upper mount piece, and we'll see what other cars have the same bolt spread as the max...then I can look for plates for those cars, and modify them for height, if needed. Plenty of camber plates on ebay for 240sx, rx7, and other cars...for around $100..

Try Ground Control and see if their's will mate up at all. It works on the B13/B14.
Also how different is the A34 from A33 susp up top? Tein is currently doing R&D on their SS for the 6th gen using a pillowball mount.
Ah - actually Stillen's advertising a $150 Tein for the B14, and a $253 Cusco for the B13. One of these has gotta fit. It could just be minor work needed.

Have you looked at these yet Josh??
It says that they are compatable with other suspension systems.
Don't they sponsor you?

upstate- thanks for the link man ! I need new pillow ball mounts for my JIC FLTA2s and JIC wants 400 bux for a set. I could make these work for 1/3 the price and keep one as a spare
I am in process of totally rebuilding my suspension... I got some prototype stuff on my car right now that makes the ES bushings pale in comparison as far as steering response and overal driving feel of the car. I just installed the parts today on my stock Maxima suspension and I could tell a HUGE diff.... but sssshhhh its still top secret.

ground control said they would make us one, I just need the bolt pattern measurements if someone has them on hand.
I also have a set of Stillen camber plates brand new for $250 if someone wants those also. I picked them up before they discontinued the item

He was supposed to have taken that link out of his catalog....he can't get them from Stillen anymore either, IIRC.

I would love to have a set of these plates. I'm having a bish of a time with my camber bolts. Adjusting them and getting them to stay in spec when I hit a bump. I don't know what's up with that. It's suppose to hold, but then again I'm not the average driver.

Do you really need camber plates. I thought i did, and so did a lot of the places that do alignments and all. I took my car into a professional alignment shop (this is all they do from import cars to Semi Trucks) and they said i do not need a camber. I droped my front end 2" and the rear 1.5. He said i had plenty of room.
Unless you are doing this for better handeling for autox

Even with lil bit over 2" drop in the front with my old suspension setup- Ground Controlls and Konis, the aligment was still in check.
I run bout 1.5 deg of negative camber on the front now, have no problems with tire wear what so ever. But it doesn't like being driven in the rain with that setting.

LOL keep us update on what you do. I know that when I drop the 2" I still had plenty of degreesof adjustment. I know a lot of people that have the D2 coilovers with the cambers. What about just the cambers from them? I dont know if camber plates interchangalbe with coilovers.

Can anyone post a 3d drawing for the pillow ball mounts. I have some extra material lying around my house and work and i have access to a mill and lathe. The ball mount would be the only hard part to make, if anyone has an extra camber plate somewhere lying around and wants to shipp it to me or someone local would let me borrow theirs i could get a better feel for the part. We could duplicate a plate then change some things around so as not to infringe copyright laws. Also would the camber plates be same for the 4th.5th, and 5.5 gens??
