I'm DONE with my MAX!

hey Guys... Yeah I'm new still but.. I guess thats how its going to stay. My Maxima 2000 got toooo many problems for me to deal with, and I'm not going to stress anymore. I got the car last year, 73k Miles (MAY) and now it got 84k miles. Has these problems 3 months after driving it Water pump Leak(50 pump 200 labor), AC Compressor clutch failed (200), Cracked Gear in the Tanny(?? didn't even fix) and tiny leak on the bottom, SES light for P1130 (Still never figured out), and now the crankshaft pulley(218+labor..working on it?)! CRANKSHAFT pulley!!! hows that mess up??? The pulley shifted so the belt slipped off the car. I got nothing put problems after problems. THE WORST LEMON of ALL! I fix one thing and another thing comes.. I just give up. Anyone got worst problems then this in a single year???

Sorry to hear about all your problems. Where did you buy the car? Dealer or private party?

Just bought my Maxima in May with simular miles on it but I did a backround check on it before I bought the car.
I haven't had one problem yet...except that it is mostly stock.

I don't think your car is a lemon. It sounds as if someone offloaded it at the right time and now you're stuck with the maintenance bill.

Seems as if you need more knowledge on cars, and your mechanic(s) took advantage of that

As they say, "Buying other peoples problems"

Previous owner problem never took very good care of car. Some people beat the sh*t outta cars and just off load them for the next sucka to buy. Carfax sucks. it not very accurate. I had my 02 serviced all the time and when i ran a carfax on my car it only showed me getting the car serviced like 3 times....when it was serviced about 10 times

i'm sorry to hear that, but i bought my car last may as well and i've onlyhad problems. dunno if you've got me beat, but i'm going on my SECOND tranny, (the tranny is from another maxima!!!) and it's not the original tranny, the car was purchased like this. wheel bearing, maf sensor, shift lever, 3rd clutch (incorrect installation from this stupid tranny shop), sway bar links, bushings throughout the car (worn). CV boot leak, sorry, i can go on forever, but i'm broke and pissed off like you are. better luck for you.

Reliability

My Wife's 2001 has about 80,000 miles on it and runs great. I have changed the oil at the specified intervals, air filters, brake pads, etc.. Put an O2 sensor simulator on for the bogus pre cat codes. It has a FSTB & RSB and all is well. No one has touched it but me since new and it runs like new. My 99 GLE is the same, except I replaced the ignition Coils at 70,000 Miles. It has 95,000 Miles and runs like new. My 1992 SE was purchased as a project car with 96,000 Miles last October with a bad engine and other & had not been on the road for 4 years. I replaced the engine with a JDM + VTCs & a water pump, CV axles, all window regulators, Brake pads, struts and cartridges, front bumper cover & paint, cleaned & redyed leather, installed 99 GLE RWheels, new stereo. etc. Runs perfectly & looks like new. I believe that regular maintenance is the key for longevity and performance.

It sounds like some of you guys had the same problems as I did with my previous Subaru. That thing (2000 Legacy) was a POS with it's problems. 2 tranny's, 2 new sets of heads, and countless repair bills later, I have my Maxima. So far so good with the Max.

I bought it with 11k miles, put on 5k since February, no problems as it should be. I've only changed the oil and had to replace one wiper blade.

Not to be baised, or an a-hole or anything, but the Maxima 00 model year was pretty crappy and had its share of problems....

I just bought my 02 last week and it had warped rotors, but my dad just shaved them down this weekend and now no more grinding when I stop. But I still have to figure out this rattling noise near the steering wheel when I go over bumps. Anyone else have this problem?

The noise is like when you hit a bump and it sounds like rattling in the steering column right? How much are these bushings going to set me back?
