Starting Problems

So my Max has this odd issue starting when warm (5-10 minutes after shutting her down). The car will sometimes not startup right away. It will sputter a bit but die during cranking. I try it a second time and the car fires up. When starting from cold it fires up right away. Anyone know what could be causing this?

If you have the original factory battery or one from '01 this is about the time they will start losing life, fast. My battery died right after Hurricane Dennis, I'm glad I found out too because I had my 60k service scheduled for the next morning!

It's not the battery. I just had it replaced and it also appears to time related not distance. I can drive the same distance but if I leave the car off for more than 20 minutes the problem doesn't happen.

The only thing I can think of is that something is getting over-heated. Might be more serious than I first presumed, but I'm in the dark about this one. Contact BDave, he's our Nissan mechanic.

Make sure the battery wasn't tightened too much, just in case any acid leaked out. Thats just a strench though.
