I recently "totaled" my maxima. The reason it was totaled was because I slid out on a turn on the highway and half my car went up on the side rails and the other half on the ground. The under carriage was damaged to the point the insurance company totaled it. But I know a few body shop mechanics and with like 3k they said I could fix the body. I bought the car back from the insurance company for $1500 and had it fixed. But in order to get a tag, the inspection people have to pass it.

The airbag sensor is damaged and the part is like $1200. Is there anyone who knows where I can get that replacement part for cheaper?

Check the junkyards. You can also e-bay it. Should be able to find a salvaged one.

Looks like they have at least one for $75.

Check with DAVEB or your local parts dealer for what years use the same part and that might widen your search.
