My AC is always operational. The AC switch is set so the green LED is off, the temp control slide is above the max AC level, and I'm still getting AC's air. Taking this issue to the Stealership is like giving a blank check to an ex-girlfriend. They would milk it for hours...

Anyone else deal with this? Suggestions?

 

A temporary fix would be just removing the fuse. Outside of that I'm sure the real fix lies somewhere in the A/C controls.

 

wait, is teh button all the way over to the max ac side? if it is then that why, once it goes there the AC automatically comes on.
Just move the **** a lil to the right(u can almost feel it go into a notch) and then hit the AC button to turn it off and your all set

 

No, it's already above that Max AC notch in the slide. As a matter of fact, I've slid it up into the heat area and I get heat, but as I get back into the blue range the AC clearly is on...

 

Where are your vents directed? I believe if you have the vents set to the defrost mode, the AC will come on automatically.

Vent position is set at passengers and floor.

I care, because I don't want the compressor running all the time I just want vented air. I'd like to avoid a $1000 compressor replacement down the road.

 

It might be the climate control switches. Mine's f-ed up right now. I need to get it fixed.

 

this has happened to me before, its the blower control module, it was like 250 bucks for me to fix it...

 

Ebay the unit. Should be able to find one for under a $100 bucks shipped.

 

Go to the dealer and get it fixed for free. If you don't have a warranty on an 03', wow.

My 03 fan is always on high. Even when the climate control system is off. Is it a faulty climate control module? How can I test it?

Maybe your fan motor resistor is bad.

 

Fixed! It was the Blower resistor. The dealer called it the Blower Power Module. I have the part # at home if anyone is interested. I tried to fix it, but the transistor (NEC k2500) that is the heart of the unit is not available anywhere.

 

one little reminder to everyone, make sure you have your a/c off when you turn the car on and off. For some reason there is still pressure going to the compressor and the best way to avoid it is by shutting it off.

 

It does not hurt anything by leaving it on. I have never had any AC problems from leaving mine on throughout the years.
