HVAC issues

Well, I had a terrible sound coming form my passenger blower for about 6 months now and it finally went away this past week....the entire HVAC doesn't work now. I'm thinking it is the blower motor that needs to be replaced, but I am not sure.

Has anyone else had this type of problem before???
Would the blower motor be something hard to replace myself???
Or shoudl I have a professional do it???

Thanx in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

yes, if the blower motor has failed, you should be able to replace it yourself. when you say the entire HVAC has failed, has the entire hvac failed or just the blower motor

Mine has been making a pretty bad noise now for a copule of months. Kinda sounds like the motor is going bad, but I can only hear it on the lowest two fan settings. I haven't looked into having it taken care of at this point.

I'm confident it is the blower motor. It was making a really bad noise (loud squeal)since the winter but still worked and it finally went out about a month ago (does not work at all). Does anyone have a how-to for this?? FYI, the noise was coming from the passenger side. Also, anyone know where I can get a good deal on a blower motor???

Not meaning to Hijack

Sorry, but this board has a 15 post rule before allowing new members to postnew threads.

I have a 2003 GLE. Yesterday the Climate control system in my max started acting strange. The fan only runs at full blast, and if I turn the system off, the fan still runs at full in the defrost mode.

I think it is the speed/resistor network for the blower. I had a similar problem years ago with my sentra, but it had the normal slide control vs the climate control system.

Am I correct or is something else broken?

BB

when you say the fan only unrs at full blast, you mean it wont work until you put it on full, or it runs on high speed regardless of setting?

It always runs at high, even when the system is turned off.
