I hear it makes more of a difference in the 3.5L and/or when you have every bolt on known to man.

I got about 14 HP and 13 pounds of torque with it. I could feel it pretty well on the butt dyno as well. My car is 3.5 with PR CAI, y-pipe, b-pipe and timing advance.
I can't speak for the 3.0 but it works well on the 3.5.

im considering this mod too for my 3.0 my mods are PR CAI, Y pipe, straight pipe, catback, and timing advance.. any 3.0's out there got a SAFC.. derrick did you tune it yourself or did you have some one do it for you.. im good at tuning with SAFC i did it all the time in Street legal Performance at school.. and i have acess to a dyno so i would be able to tune it myself..

I had the guys at the shop do it. I wired it myself but wouldn't know where to start when it comes to operating it. If you have access to a dyno you could do a few pulls and see if your running rich enough to need it.

I didn't really expect much from it. I got it because I'm planning in getting headers soon and knew I would need it then. I was pleasantly purprised by the results.

BTW these things are all over E-Bay (brand new) for pretty cheap.

I haven't mounted it. I just have it tucked away under the dash. I can pull it out if I need to see it but there's no reason for me to have it mounted. If I were going to I would probobly mount it on the flat spot over the vents.

All you really need is the MAF signal.

First you have to see where your A/F is, then decide whehter or not it would be worth it.

Here is an idea for where to mount it. I live on an Air Force base so I am not worried about getting it stolen. I wouldn't recommend it there if you lived in a high crime rate area.

What kind of gains did you get from the hot shot headers and the SAFC?

Well, I never dyno'd after the header install. With the S-AFCII I got 14whp/8wtq. I would say add maybe 8-15 both hp/tq with the headers before the S-AFCII.

if tuned correctly then there should be no cons aside from less money in your wallet.

Thanks, I'm constantly weary on installing certain mods because I just got the car and it's got 36k on it. I'd hate to start having problems. Also I so the S-AFCII on ebay a lot cheaper then getting it elsewhere.

If you don't know what you're doing and make it run lean, that will cause heat related problems. If it runs rich, you will get poor mileage, power, and carbon deposits.

Does any one with a 00-01 Max have an SAFC. Most of you guys have 02-03 cars

but I do have a question I raced my friend with a 02 Max(no mods) and I have a 01(Warp speed y pipe and intake) what is the diference in car length at the end of the Quarter mile. He(02) wins!! I am try to find out if he is spraying me or they it just pulls that hard.

So what are you telling me, that it depends on the installer?
Thanks

Not really. If you tune it to run lean you can ruin the engine.

I had a experienced mechanic install mine, because I wouldn't have a clue on how to do it.
